Taylor Swift reportedly paid $197 million in bonuses to workers on the Eras Tour over its two-year run, in addition to their salaries, according to Us Weekly’s December 9, 2024 report. That is an aggregate figure: the reporting does not disclose how much any individual received or how the total was divided.
What the $197 million figure means
Us Weekly said it confirmed the total and credited People with first reporting it. The outlet described the bonuses as additional to workers’ salaries. The figure is reported by media outlets, not published in a payroll record or public accounting statement.
That distinction matters: $197 million is the reported total for bonuses across the tour, not a per-person amount, a salary figure, or a stated share of ticket revenue.
Who was reported to receive bonuses?
The reported recipients included a broad range of touring roles, not only the performers on stage. Us Weekly named truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, dancers, band members, security, choreographers, and technical and production workers.

The list does not define the employment boundary for every role, so it does not establish that every local venue worker or contractor received a bonus.
How much did individual crew members receive?
The reviewed reporting does not provide a reliable individual payout, a role-by-role breakdown, or a formula for dividing the total. The number of people covered and the timing of payments are also not established. The Associated Press reported that the later docuseries does not reveal individual bonus values.

- Frame is 14" x 17"
- Frame is Studio Black with Glass Front
- Print is 9" x 11" Professionally Matted and Mounted
- Hundreds of different prints available (Films and Music)
- Eddie Van Halen Live on Stage with Guitar 1978
It would therefore be misleading to divide $197 million by an assumed crew size or to infer a worker’s payout from reactions shown on camera.
How the tour’s scale provides context
The Associated Press described the Eras Tour as running from March 2023 to December 2024 across five continents. Its shows lasted about three and a half hours and featured 44 songs representing 10 career eras. Those details help explain the scale of the production, but they do not reveal how bonuses were allocated.

Before the tour’s final show, the AP reported that Pollstar expected ticket sales to exceed $2 billion. That was a forecast published ahead of the finale, not a final ticket-sales total—and ticket sales are not the same as profit or cash available for bonuses.

In the docuseries, Swift gave crew members handwritten letters sealed with wax, according to the AP. ABC Audio reported that the episode pairs the letters with bonuses. The scene offers a look at the thank-you gesture, but it does not establish individual payment amounts.

ABC Audio quoted Swift saying, “These people just work so hard, and they are the best at what they do.” She also said, “Making that worthwhile for them feels like Christmas morning, when you finally get to say thank you.” ABC Audio reported that the card included the line, “My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank, but here’s (bleep) dollars just to say thanks. Love, Taylor.” The amount is bleeped, and no value can be inferred from it.
