The “starting from just $3” Steam deals in this headline are historical: Tom’s Guide listed them in a roundup updated November 28, 2025. They are not verified current prices. If you’re shopping now, check each game’s Steam page for your region before buying; the 2025 list is useful as a record of what that roundup featured, not as a live deal guide.

Is there a Steam Black Friday sale in 2026?
Valve’s currently announced Steam sale calendar lists the 2026 Autumn Sale for October 1–8 and the Winter Sale for December 17, 2026–January 4, 2027. It does not list a 2026 Steam Black Friday sale. Valve describes its seasonal promotions as “Four times a year, we run Steam-wide seasonal sale events” in its Steamworks documentation on upcoming Steam events.

That calendar does not rule out individual games being discounted around Black Friday. In 2025, a Steam Community post reproduced Steamworks wording that Steam would not run a Black Friday sale of its own, but would theme its year-round Discounts and Events page with Black Friday offers from November 24 through December 1. That is 2025-specific context, not confirmation of what Steam will do in November 2026. See the 2025 Steam Community discussion for that announcement.
How to check a deal before you buy
- Confirm the current regional price. Open the game’s Steam store page while signed in and check the price shown for your account’s country. Don’t rely on a past roundup price.
- Check the discount and reference price. Compare the current offer with the reference price Steam displays, and decide whether the discount is worthwhile for you.
- Match the game to your setup. Check the store page’s system requirements against your PC or handheld before purchasing.
- Inspect bundle contents. For a bundle, make sure it includes the games or content you actually want; a lower combined price is not useful if you would not buy the included items separately.
Get notified when a wishlisted game goes on sale
Steam says it emails users when a wishlisted game receives a seasonal discount of at least 20%. Add games you are considering to your wishlist and enable Steam email notifications. Valve’s discount documentation also describes cooldown rules tied to releases and price changes, which can affect when a developer may discount a game.

Hardware was a separate part of the 2025 article
Tom’s Guide also mentioned the Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS (Ryzen Z2 Go), gaming laptops, and desktops in a separate hardware section. Those were additional product opportunities, not requirements for buying or playing the listed Steam games. Check a device’s exact model, current availability, price, and compatibility for your needs before considering it.
