Greydon Holliday, a seventh grader at Albert R. Lyman Middle School in Blanding, received a $500 savings account as a regional winner of Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s program, the San Juan Record reported October 5, 2026. Kim Palmer, manager of the bank’s Blanding branch, announced the award at a branch presentation in September.
How Holliday earned an entry
According to the San Juan Record, Holliday brought his report card to Zions Bank. The newspaper says students received an entry into the spring scholarship drawing for each “A” on a report card.
The report describes a program reward of either $1 deposited for each “A” or 50 cents paid in cash for each “A.” It says students ages 12 to 18 in middle school, junior high, or high school could bring a current term-end report card to a Zions Bank location, and that an existing bank account was not required. These are terms as described by the newspaper; the report does not independently establish whether they remain current, so families should confirm eligibility and rules with Zions Bank before participating.
What the award and program included
The San Juan Record described Holliday’s $500 savings account as a regional prize. It reported that the program selected 18 regional scholarship winners—each receiving $500—from Idaho and Utah, plus one $1,000 grand-prize winner in each state. The article said the selection drew more than 1,800 entries. These figures are the newspaper’s account of the 2026 selection, not independently audited statistics.
