If you earn money from your channel (which you will, via YouTube ads), disclose it. “I earn revenue from YouTube ads on this channel” in your description or pinned comment is sufficient. This transparency is legally and ethically required in most jurisdictions.
Avoid affiliate links to brokers or exchanges. If a viewer signs up for a trading platform using your link and you earn a commission, that is a financial incentive that could bias your content. Better to keep the channel clean: publish data, build audience, earn ad revenue only.
Data Sourcing and Accuracy
A stock ticker channel is only useful if the data is accurate. An outdated stock price or a delayed crypto quote damages your credibility. Viewers come to your channel expecting real-time information; late data is worse than no data.

Budget for data costs. A real-time stock API from a professional provider costs based on scope and query limits. Set up monitoring to catch data failures. If your data source goes offline or returns stale prices, your broadcast becomes unreliable. Decide on your content mix. Some channels focus purely on major indices: S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones, major crypto pairs (BTC/USD, ETH/USD). Others feature hand-selected stocks relevant to a niche (tech stocks, penny stocks, dividend payers, earnings movers). Others run crypto pairs only. The simpler and more focused, the more sustainable. A channel that promises “all 500 stocks in the S&P 500 updated in real time” is a maintenance nightmare. A channel showing “30 top-traded stocks and 10 major crypto pairs updated every 30 seconds” is manageable.
Design your overlay. A professional ticker shows price, change amount, change percentage, and trend indicator (up/down/flat). Use color coding: green for gains, red for losses, neutral for unchanged. You are not offering true real-time quotes; you are offering updated-every-30-minutes quotes. This is actually acceptable for many ticker channels.
