The report also said the stock opened at ₹2,800 against a previous close of ₹2,575 and touched the BSE upper price band of ₹2,832.50. The intraday high, previous close and upper band are different measures; the high does not tell you where the stock closed.
The reported sequence makes the company update a plausible news catalyst, but it does not establish that revenue growth alone caused the share-price move. LiveMint’s event-day report connected the session to the update.
What did Trent report in its Q2FY27 update?
Trent’s 5 October 2026 update, as reported by LiveMint, gave standalone revenue from operations of ₹5,788 crore for Q2FY27, up 23% year on year. For H1FY27, revenue was ₹11,454 crore, up 21% year on year. These are company-reported operating figures carried in the news report, not independently audited results stated here.

Store openings and portfolio size
The update said Trent opened its 1,000th Zudio store during the quarter. It had 1,342 stores across its retail brands at 30 September 2026. During Q2, the company added 10 Westside stores and 17 Zudio stores. These operating milestones provide context for the update, but do not by themselves explain the full share-price reaction.
Trent mutual fund holding and FPI stake: June 2026 figures
Financial coverage of the June 2026 quarter-end shareholding reported mutual funds holding 7.81 crore Trent shares, equal to 14.64%, and foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) holding 8.08 crore shares, equal to 15.14%. These are quarter-end figures for June 2026, not live ownership data.

LiveMint reported the June-quarter figures. Tata Sons and Tata Investment Corporation are separate named holders; adding their reported percentages gives about 36.73%, but that sum is not a separately reported holding. LIC is an insurer, not a mutual fund, so its stake should not be included in the mutual-fund figure.

Scheme-level portfolio snapshots are not the same measure as the company-wide shareholding pattern filed for a quarter.
