At Apple’s latest listed quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share, you’d need 9,260 shares to reach at least $10,000 in gross annual dividends—assuming four payments at that same rate. That’s an annualized illustration, not a promise: future dividends may change, and taxes or withholding can reduce what you receive.
How the share-count estimate works
Apple declared a regular cash dividend of $0.27 per share on July 30, 2026, payable August 13, 2026, according to its dividend history. Apple notes that the listed dividend amounts are not adjusted for stock splits.
Multiplying the latest quarterly amount by four gives an assumed annual rate of $1.08 per share. Dividing the $10,000 target by $1.08 gives 9,259.26 shares; because the target is to meet or exceed $10,000, round up to 9,260 whole shares.
| Shares | Annualized gross dividends at $1.08 per share | Result against $10,000 target |
|---|---|---|
| 9,259 | $9,999.72 | $0.28 short |
| 9,260 | $10,000.80 | $0.80 over |
These totals assume four payments at the latest listed rate. They are gross amounts before tax or withholding and do not account for share purchases, reinvestment, or changes to the dividend.

What the estimate does—and does not—tell you
It is a run-rate calculation, not guaranteed income
The $1.08 annual figure comes from multiplying one declared quarterly rate by four; it is not a separate annual dividend commitment. Future payments may be higher, lower, or otherwise differ from this illustration. The 9,260-share count reaches the target only if four payments are made at $0.27 per share.
Your actual cash received may be lower
The calculation is before taxes and any withholding. It also assumes you already hold 9,260 shares for the relevant dividend payments; it does not model when shares are bought or how many payments you would qualify to receive in a particular year.

How to buy shares or reinvest dividends
Apple says its shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker AAPL and may be purchased through brokerage firms. Apple does not offer a direct dividend reinvestment program (DRIP). In its Investor Relations FAQ, Apple says, “No, but most brokerages allow you to reinvest dividends.”
If you use a brokerage’s reinvestment option, the number of shares you hold can change over time as dividends are reinvested. That would make your future share count and dividend totals different from the fixed-share illustration above.
