PERKESO says Zetrix AI Berhad never collected mandatory employer or employee social-security contributions on its behalf. The RM314 million arrears claim reported in the same news cycle concerns government revenue collected for Road Transport Department (JPJ) services—not PERKESO contributions. The two issues involve different agencies and collection arrangements.
What did PERKESO say about Zetrix?
PERKESO said Zetrix had never been appointed to collect mandatory contributions under the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969 (Act 4), and had never collected social-security contributions on the agency’s behalf. PERKESO’s statement, reproduced in contemporaneous coverage, said: “To date, Zetrix has never collected any social security contributions on behalf of Perkeso. Therefore, there is no issue of contributions being outstanding, submitted late or remaining in the company’s possession.” Source: contemporaneous report carrying PERKESO’s statement

Zetrix’s PERKESO-related appointment was described as limited to marketing, promotion and engagement for LINDUNG Kendiri and LINDUNG Kasih. Those are voluntary schemes; the reported appointment did not authorise Zetrix to collect mandatory Act 4 contributions. Source: contemporaneous report
What is the RM314 million arrears claim about?
It concerns government revenue collected in connection with JPJ services. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said MYEG and Zetrix had failed to remit RM314 million collected from 19 May to 30 September 2026. That is a reported claim in an ongoing dispute, not a PERKESO arrears figure or an independently audited final amount. BERNAMA report

According to BERNAMA’s account of Loke’s remarks, authorities sent 35 reminders, and a RM231 million cheque dated 30 September was not processed after the company instructed its bank to stop payment. These details are attributed to Loke and the report. BERNAMA report
Zetrix said on 6 October that the precise amount owed to JPJ was still being finalised and that final settlement terms awaited further discussion and formal agreement. The company said it had submitted a proposal; the suspension would remain in place while discussions with JPJ, the Transport Ministry and other authorities continued. The Edge, 6 October 2026

What the JPJ suspension means for users
The suspension affected online services including road-tax and driving-licence renewals, learner’s driving licence applications, traffic-summons enquiries and payments, vehicle ownership transfers, and the Malaysian Computerised Driving Theory Test. Zetrix said the suspension would temporarily reduce revenue and profit contributions from JPJ services in its fourth quarter of 2026, but did not provide an estimate. The Edge, 6 October 2026

Under Act 4, the principal employer must initially pay both the employer’s and employee’s contributions. PERKESO’s enforcement information describes inspections to promote employer compliance and lists collecting contribution arrears and late-payment interest among its objectives. That general framework does not alter PERKESO’s specific statement that Zetrix never collected mandatory contributions on its behalf. What is established—and what remains unresolved
- PERKESO’s position is that Zetrix did not collect mandatory Act 4 contributions on its behalf; its reported role concerned promotion and engagement for voluntary schemes.
- The RM314 million figure is Loke’s reported claim about JPJ-related government revenue collected between 19 May and 30 September 2026, not a social-security contribution shortfall.
- As of Zetrix’s 6 October statement, the exact JPJ amount and settlement terms had not been finalised, and the collection-agent suspension remained in place pending discussions.
