- Current bitrate (how much data per second you’re sending)
- Frame rate (frames per second)
- Dropped frames (connection hiccups)
- Encoder status (whether the device encoding the stream is working)
If bitrate drops sharply or dropped frames spike, something is wrong with the source device or your internet connection. From your phone, you can see the problem is happening, but you can’t fix it remotely unless you have a second person at the streaming device or access to it via a remote desktop app.
End Stream vs. Emergency Shutdown
You can end your stream gracefully from your phone by opening YouTube Studio and clicking the Stop Streaming button. This gives the stream time to wrap up cleanly, process any final chat messages, and save the broadcast as a video archive. Troubleshooting Common Issues From Your Phone
Stream dropped but reconnected automatically:
Check the Health tab in YouTube Studio. If bitrate and frame rate look normal, the issue has resolved itself. No action needed.
Chat is slow or lagging:
This is usually YouTube’s backend, not your phone. There’s nothing you can do from your device. Wait a few minutes. If it persists, check your internet speed (use a speed test app) to rule out your connection.
Viewer count appears stuck:
YouTube’s dashboard sometimes delays metric updates. Wait a minute before assuming there’s a problem. Refreshing the page often fixes it.
Stream went offline unexpectedly:
