NVIDIA Stock Nears a Record as AI Supplier Foxconn Signals Strong Demand

NVIDIA’s revenue and Data Center business surged in fiscal Q2 2027, while its next-quarter forecast points to continued growth. Foxconn’s results offer a supplier signal, not proof of NVIDIA revenue.

The supplier in the headline is Foxconn, which Barron’s describes as NVIDIA’s artificial-intelligence server partner. Foxconn’s reported results are a signal about AI-server activity, not revenue that automatically flows to NVIDIA. The firmer evidence is NVIDIA’s own: it reported $96.2 billion in fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue, up 106% year over year, and forecast $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%, for the following quarter.

Which supplier is behind the headline?

It is Foxconn. Barron’s characterizes the company as NVIDIA’s artificial-intelligence server partner and interprets Foxconn’s results as evidence that NVIDIA may have momentum. That is a supplier read-through, not confirmation of NVIDIA orders, shipments, revenue, or earnings. The accessible Barron’s article summary does not provide the Foxconn revenue figure or the comparison period behind the headline, so those numbers cannot be responsibly stated here. Barron’s coverage

What NVIDIA reported in fiscal Q2 2027

NVIDIA’s fiscal second quarter ended July 26, 2026; the company announced results on August 26. It reported $96.221 billion in revenue, up 18% sequentially and 106% from the year-earlier quarter. Its Data Center segment, the most direct indicator in these results of its AI-infrastructure business, generated $89.0 billion, up 18% sequentially and 117% year over year. These are reported quarterly results, not measures of the stock’s performance in October. NVIDIA’s earnings release

Revenue growth also translated into substantial earnings in that quarter: NVIDIA reported a 75.0% GAAP gross margin, net income of $59.688 billion, and diluted GAAP earnings per share of $2.46. Each figure describes that quarter; none should be treated as a forecast.

What NVIDIA expects next—and what the forecast assumes

For fiscal Q3 2027, NVIDIA forecast revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%. Management said that outlook assumed no Data Center compute revenue from China. This is the clearest near-term test of whether demand continues to turn into revenue recognized by NVIDIA, but it remains a forecast rather than a delivered result. NVIDIA’s fiscal Q3 outlook

Why supplier growth does not guarantee NVIDIA growth

Foxconn’s activity can help investors understand the wider AI-server buildout, but the two companies’ revenue is not interchangeable. A supplier’s sales do not establish how much NVIDIA will sell, when NVIDIA will recognize revenue, or what profit it will earn. NVIDIA’s own filing shows both the scale of its commitments to support supply and the operational hurdles that can interfere with converting demand into results.

As of July 26, 2026, NVIDIA disclosed $279 billion in supply and capacity commitments, compared with $119 billion in the prior quarter. The company said these commitments were primarily related to memory and manufacturing facilities for data-center infrastructure systems. They indicate substantial commitments to secure capacity; they are not a measure of revenue already earned or a guarantee of future sales. NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 SEC filing

The filing identifies several risks to delivery and revenue conversion:

  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads
  • Demand estimates may prove inaccurate, while production requirements and system complexity can cause delays, quality problems, lower yields, higher costs, and revenue volatility.
  • Customers may defer purchases if infrastructure or funding is unavailable. Shortages of land, power, data-center shells, or capital can also affect future revenue.
  • Supply-demand management is difficult: the company’s ability to meet demand depends on production capacity as well as customers’ ability to deploy and fund infrastructure.

What NVIDIA’s CEO says about demand

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang described AI as having reached an inflection point and said, “Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.” He also said demand is accelerating, citing a broader mix of AI labs, startups, frontier labs, open models, and physical AI. These are management’s characterization of the market, not independently measured demand data. Huang’s statement in NVIDIA’s earnings announcement

What the stock headline does—and does not—establish

The headline frames NVIDIA stock as chasing a record high, but the accessible sources do not independently verify the October 5, 2026 closing price or the record benchmark. A precise share price, percentage gain, or market capitalization would therefore go beyond the verified information. The operating results and outlook support a strong-growth narrative; they do not establish an exact stock-market milestone or determine whether the shares are attractively valued.
