The report attributes this line to him: “What I’m saying is — hang on to your stock.” The account is a secondary report, not a verified transcript.
What Musk reportedly said
Joe Wilkins’s March 21, 2025 article in Futurism says Musk addressed employees at an all-hands meeting and urged them not to sell their Tesla shares. Its headline characterizes the appeal as Musk “begging” staff; the wording the article attributes to him is more direct: “What I’m saying is — hang on to your stock.”
No recording or transcript is established by the cited report, so the quotation and account should be understood as what Futurism reported, rather than as independently verified remarks.
Why employee stock is part of the story
Futurism says Tesla employees had received stock awards as part of annual salary adjustments and reports that the company announced a company-wide halt to equity awards in 2023. Those are historical claims from the article. They do not establish Tesla’s current compensation policy.

What the report does—and does not—establish
The article situates Musk’s reported appeal amid concerns about Tesla’s business, its stock, and public response. It also interprets employee stock awards in the context of labor organizing. Those points are the article’s framing and analysis, not independently verified findings in the cited account.
For personal-finance readers, the key distinction is between the reported statement and the broader interpretation around it: the source reports an appeal to employees to hold their shares, but does not by itself verify the remarks through a primary record or settle Tesla’s present financial, labor, or equity-award conditions.
