The bank describes the service as an interactive 3D environment for exploring banking products and its digital presence—not as a replacement for its regular banking channels. Its “Pakistan’s first” description is the bank’s own claim; the available official materials do not independently establish market-wide priority.
What Allied Bank’s metaverse experience offers
Allied Bank describes a virtual environment where visitors can explore information about the bank and its offerings. Its current service page lists customizable avatars, gestures, snapshots, live visitor chat, an interactive map, and a feedback tool. It also describes spaces for debit and credit card information, a digital lobby with self-service banking equipment, digital lockers, account and financing information, and games.
These are features the bank says the experience provides. The listed information and interactive spaces do not, by themselves, show that visitors can complete live financial transactions inside the environment. Allied Bank’s 2025 annual report presents the virtual branch as a customer-engagement touchpoint where prospective customers can explore account and card offerings and digital lockers.
How to access the virtual branch
Use a desktop or laptop browser
The bank lists Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera GX for desktop or laptop access. Visitors can register and create an avatar, sign in, or enter as a guest. A VR headset is not necessary for this browser route.

Allied Bank recommends a desktop or laptop with at least a fifth-generation processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a dedicated GPU. It describes a stable, high-speed internet connection as preferable and gives 10 Mbps as its preference. These are the bank’s stated recommendations, not independently tested minimum requirements.
Use a VR headset
Allied Bank recommends Meta Quest devices and says an Android VR headset may also be used. Its setup directions for Meta Quest involve the Meta Horizon app, SideQuest, developer mode, connecting the headset to a computer by USB, and installing the Allied Bank app. The bank says VR login registration must first be completed through the web version.

The browser and VR routes have different practical trade-offs: the browser route needs a suitable computer, while VR requires a headset and extra setup. The reviewed materials do not compare the routes’ security, effectiveness, or popularity.
What powers the upgraded experience
Allied Bank says the upgraded experience is built on Orion, an enterprise metaverse platform developed by Avanza Innovations. The bank’s announcement quotes Mohsin Mithani, its Chief Digital Officer, describing the project as part of its effort to explore emerging technology and engage younger, digitally native customers. That is the bank’s stated rationale, not independent evidence of customer demand or measured results.

What is established—and what is not
The bank’s announcement and service materials establish its own timeline and description: Allied Bank reports an initial metaverse entry in 2022, listed the upgraded-experience announcement on 19 June 2025, and its current service page says it was last updated on 27 January 2026. The 2025 annual report also describes web and VR access.
The official materials reviewed do not provide adoption figures, performance statistics, or evidence that the experience improves banking outcomes. They also do not independently confirm the bank’s “Pakistan’s first” claim across the wider market. Readers should therefore understand “first” as Allied Bank’s characterization, rather than a separately verified comparison.
