DealDash’s auctions use a real paid-bid format, but the price displayed on a winning auction is not the winner’s full cost. Each bid consumes a separately purchased credit as the displayed price rises by one cent. To judge what a win costs, add the bids you spent to the final auction price and any applicable tax. The sources reviewed do not establish that DealDash is a scam, but they also do not establish that customers typically save money.
What does a DealDash auction price include?
DealDash says each auction starts at $0 with no reserve. Every bid raises the displayed price by one cent, consumes one paid bid, and resets the countdown to nine seconds. If the clock runs out without another bid, the last bidder wins and pays the final displayed price. DealDash’s Getting Started page listed bids at 13 cents each when checked on October 5, 2026; bid prices may vary by pack or promotion, so check the price shown when you buy.

As DealDash puts it, “Every auction starts at $0.00 with no reserve price.” That describes the auction’s starting price, not the total cost of taking part.
How much does it really cost to win?
For a winner who uses N bids priced at $0.13 each and pays a final auction price of P, the basic direct-cost calculation is:

#1 Best Overall
- Get thousands of restaurants, convenience stores, pet stores, grocery stores, gifts, and more at your fingertips.
- Easy ordering, order customizations, and real-time tracking
- Pickup, group order, and scheduled delivery options available
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Total before applicable tax = (N × $0.13) + P
This is an illustration using DealDash’s posted bid price at the time checked, not an estimate of typical spending. For example, if a winner used 100 bids at that price and the final auction price were $10, the direct cost would be $23 before applicable tax. The $10 displayed auction price alone would not show the money spent on bids.
DealDash says winners must pay the final price plus applicable sales tax within 14 days, according to its FAQ. To decide whether a win is a bargain, compare the full cost—including consumed bids and tax—with the price of the same item from a retailer. The sources reviewed do not establish a representative savings rate or average total spending.

What happens if you do not win?
DealDash says a losing bidder may be able to use Buy It Now to purchase the item at its listed regular price and recover the bids used in that auction. The option and its terms should be checked on the specific auction; availability should not be assumed. Using it can mean paying the ordinary purchase price rather than buying the item for the final auction price. See DealDash’s Getting Started page and FAQ.
Are DealDash bids refundable?
DealDash advertises a 90-day money-back guarantee for a customer’s first Bid Pack in its FAQ. Its Terms of Use narrow the conditions: the bid-refund eligibility described there applies only to bids bought at the then-current full price, generally within 30 days, with a 90-day period for the first pack. The terms also describe circumstances in which refunds are unavailable, including after an item has shipped or if an account is suspended.

Read the current terms before buying and keep purchase records. The advertised first-pack guarantee should not be taken to mean every bid purchase is refundable.
What does the legal record say about scam claims?
A class-action complaint filed in April 2017 alleged deceptive representations about product values and the true cost winners paid, and challenged DealDash’s auction model. A complaint documents what plaintiffs alleged and the relief they sought; it does not establish that the allegations were true.

Truth in Advertising’s case-history page reports that the case was voluntarily dismissed in January 2018 and that the reasons were not disclosed. The available sources do not establish a finding on the merits that DealDash committed fraud or that its business model was cleared of wrongdoing. An FTC search result about other penny-auction or online-marketing defendants is not evidence of a finding against DealDash.

- Count all spending: Include the bids used, final auction price, and applicable tax—not just the displayed price.
- Compare a like-for-like retail price: Check the item’s actual price from another seller rather than relying only on a listed or claimed value.
- Check the losing-bid option: Confirm whether that auction offers Buy It Now, what it costs, and which bids it returns.
- Read the bid-pack terms: Check the price at purchase and whether your bids qualify for a refund.
- Consider the risk of not winning: Bids are consumed as you participate, so the outcome and any Buy It Now option affect your total cost.
The available sources describe DealDash’s rules and refund terms, but do not provide independent, representative data on typical customer savings or average auction spending. That evidence does not support calling the service categorically a scam—or claiming that users generally get bargains.
