Public Mobile’s reported winback offer gave some former customers $5 off qualifying plans for 24 months, using code WINBACK120. A lower tier offered $3 off plans priced from $29 to $33 for 12 months with code WINBACK36. These terms were reported on March 18, 2026; current validity and eligible plans are not established, so check the offer email and current Public Mobile terms before switching.
What Public Mobile’s reported winback offer included
MobileSyrup reported on March 18, 2026, that Public Mobile was emailing targeted offers to some former customers. The two reported discount tiers were:
| Reported plan price | Monthly discount and term | Promo code | Maximum reported savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| $34 or more | $5 off per month for 24 months | WINBACK120 | $120 over 24 months |
| $29–$33 | $3 off per month for 12 months | WINBACK36 | $36 over 12 months |
The savings totals are the arithmetic of the reported monthly discounts over their stated terms, not a separate rebate. The report does not establish which plans currently meet either price threshold.
Who could use the codes—and whether they still work
The offers were described as emails sent to some former Public Mobile customers, not a public promotion available to every customer or former customer. The report said redemption required using the same phone number previously used with Public Mobile.

MobileSyrup’s report is dated March 18, 2026, and does not confirm that either code remains active on October 4, 2026. If you received an offer, check its expiry date, the eligible plans and the instructions in that message, then verify the current terms with Public Mobile before enrolling. A code mentioned in a news report is not proof that it will apply to a plan now.
How to assess the offer before switching
Compare the plan you would actually choose, not just the headline discount. Your cost after the temporary promotion and what happens when it ends matter as much as the savings during the offer period.

- Calculate the discounted monthly price. Subtract the reported $5 or $3 only if the plan and your offer qualify; then account for the regular price after the discount expires.
- Check the data allowance. A lower bill may not be worthwhile if the plan does not meet your typical data use.
- Check coverage where you use your phone. Consider home, work and regular travel rather than assuming one carrier’s plan is best everywhere.
- Compare the discount period. A 24-month offer and a 12-month offer have different time horizons; compare the total cost over the period you expect to keep the plan.
- Confirm every condition. Check that the old number, code, plan and any other terms match the offer you received.
MobileSyrup’s March 18, 2026 article compared the reported offer with examples then listed by Public Mobile, including $30/40GB, $35/100GB and $45/150GB 5G Canada/US/Mexico plans, as well as offers from other carriers. Those are publication-time examples, not verified current prices or plan availability. The article considered the $3 tier less compelling and assessed the $5 tier against a Freedom Mobile plan; those were the article’s dated comparisons, not a current, universal recommendation.

The reported deal provides a reason for eligible former customers to check their inbox, but it does not establish a current offer for all former customers, ongoing code validity or today’s qualifying plans. MobileSyrup author Jonathan Lamont wrote, “If you get one of these winbacks, keep an eye on your inbox for a winback offer like this.” That is Lamont’s recommendation in the March 18, 2026 report, not a statement from Public Mobile.
