The company’s founder said in July 2026 that it was aiming for $100 million in sales that year; that was a target, not confirmed revenue.
What happened to Collars & Co. on Shark Tank?
Founder Justin Baer secured a partnership with investors Mark Cuban and Peter Jones. Washingtonian reported the deal as $1 million for 10% equity, while WTOP confirmed the investors but did not report those terms. The amount and equity stake should therefore be understood as reported deal terms, not independently corroborated across both accounts. Washingtonian’s July 2026 report and WTOP’s July 2026 interview identify the investors.
How did the company get started?
Baer developed the product after finding a conventional dress shirt uncomfortable under a sweater: it felt hot, bunched up, and restricted movement. The solution was a stretchy polo with a firm, dress-shirt-style collar, designed to look more polished without the usual layers. In the company’s account, a TikTok video filmed by Baer’s seven-year-old daughter helped attract attention to the product. Collars & Co.’s origin story describes the idea; in a 2026 WTOP interview, Baer recalled his daughter telling him, “Dad, you gotta do a TikTok video.”
How has Collars & Co. changed since the show?
From one signature shirt to a wider clothing range
The dress-collar polo remains the central product, but the company’s official catalog now includes performance dress shirts, sweaters, blazers, pants, shoes, accessories, and outerwear. That range makes Collars & Co. a broader menswear business than the single-product concept that first drew attention. The current official catalog lists these categories.

From online sales toward physical stores
Washingtonian reported in July 2026 that Collars & Co. was opening stores in Bethesda and Reston. That report signals a move beyond direct online sales, but it does not establish the stores’ current operating status or provide details such as hours. Readers looking to visit should check the company’s current store information rather than rely on the reported opening plans. Washingtonian’s coverage describes the expansion.
What do the sales figures actually show?
WTOP reported Baer’s account that the company sold $40,000 worth of white polo shirts in its first month. This is a founder-reported early-sales figure, not audited financial reporting. In the same July 2026 interview, Baer said the company was looking to make $100 million in sales in 2026. That was a forward-looking goal, not a confirmed full-year result.

Axios Pro reported in January 2025 that Collars & Co. was weighing investment interest from strategic investors and private equity, and described the business as growing at double-digit rates while cash-flow positive. That report does not establish that a subsequent financing round was completed. The available reporting also does not establish audited annual revenue, profit, valuation, or final 2026 sales. Axios Pro’s January 2025 report covered the potential capital raise.

Yes. Its official website continues to present a clothing catalog, and reporting in July 2026 described the company’s planned retail expansion. The clearest post-show picture is of a company that built on its original polo, expanded its assortment, and pursued physical stores—not one whose financial results can be inferred from its stated sales target.
