The list below preserves the order and amounts reported by The Alfano Group in 2016, with additional context from later coverage. Treat it as a ranking of reported prices—not a definitive worldwide record.
How to read this ranking
The Alfano Group’s June 30, 2016 article lists ten tubs from least to most expensive. Its prices are not established as completed transaction amounts, and the list does not use a common valuation date or methodology. Some entries are presented as prices, while others are accompanied by claims of a sale. The amounts therefore make a useful snapshot of luxury design stories, not an apples-to-apples measure of what these tubs would cost today.
Forbes included a Baldi rock-crystal bathtub in its June 26, 2018 gallery, but gave no price. A 2023 roundup adds some design context for the Kallista Archeo, but does not provide a pricing survey. Neither source turns the 2016 countdown into a verified current ranking.
The 10 tubs, from lowest to highest reported price
| Rank in 2016 list | Tub and reported price | Material or design details reported | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | EAGO by Blue Bath — $4,699 | The Alfano Group described a six-foot tub with an onboard TV. | The amount is the 2016 article’s reported price; a completed sale or current price is not established. |
| 9 | Le Cob Glass Bathtub — $34,000 | The article describes a glass, acrylic, and metal design by Joseph Licciardi. | The amount is reported by The Alfano Group; a transaction is not confirmed. |
| 8 | Diamond Bathtub — $39,000 | The post credits Lori Garner and says the tub uses 45,000 Swarovski crystals. | The price and crystal count are claims in the 2016 post, not independently established sale details. |
| 7 | Kallista Archeo Copper Bathtub — $67,557 | The Alfano Group describes a copper vessel. A 2023 luxury roundup describes the Archeo as a freestanding copper bathtub, 21 inches deep and with a capacity of more than 250 litres. | The $67,557 figure is from the 2016 post. The 2023 description supplies design specifications, not a current price or availability. |
| 6 | Serenity Bathtub — $76,658 | The 2016 article describes bronze with embedded gold and silver stones. | The amount is reported by The Alfano Group; the source does not establish a completed sale. |
| 5 | Baldi Amethyst Bathtub — $122,000 | The article describes amethyst and 24-karat-gold legs. | The amount is the 2016 post’s reported price, not a verified transaction or current valuation. |
| 4 | Baldi Malachite Bathtub — $222,000 | The article describes turquoise malachite and 24-karat-gold legs. | The amount is the 2016 post’s reported price; present-day market value is not established. |
| 3 | Baldi Rock Crystal Bathtub — $790,310 | Alux attributes the design to Luca Bojola, says three were made, and describes an eight-foot-plus tub carved from a ten-ton Amazonian crystal with diamonds. Forbes’s 2018 gallery also features a Baldi rock-crystal bathtub. | Forbes confirms that the design appeared in its gallery, not the $790,310 figure or Alux’s production and material claims. The price remains a reported amount, not a verified sale. |
| 2 | Golden Bathtub — $990,000 | The Alfano Group says it was commissioned by Japan’s Kominato Hotel and stolen in 2007. | The amount, commission, and theft story are claims in the 2016 post that are not independently confirmed by the other cited coverage. |
| 1 | Le Grand Queen — $1,700,000 | The post attributes the design to Simon Krapf and says it was carved from a rare material called Caijou. | The claimed sale to an anonymous buyer at a Dubai jewelry festival, material description, and price are unverified claims from The Alfano Group’s 2016 article. |
Why the prices are difficult to compare
They come from different kinds of claims
A listed or reported price is not automatically the amount paid in a completed sale. The Alfano Group’s account of Le Grand Queen includes a sale claim, but the inspected coverage does not independently substantiate it. The Golden Bathtub’s reported commission and theft likewise should not be treated as verified transaction records.

They are historical amounts, not current valuations
The figures appeared in a 2016 countdown and are not adjusted to a common date or currency basis. The sources do not establish whether any tub remains available, what it would sell for now, or whether the quoted sums represent retail asking prices, estimates, or completed transactions. The 2023 roundup is useful for describing the Archeo’s form and capacity, but it does not update the countdown’s prices.
Design rarity is part of the story
The list’s appeal comes from more than bathing function: it emphasizes crystal, amethyst, malachite, copper, glass, precious-metal details, and elaborate construction. Alux’s account of the Baldi rock-crystal tub adds a scarcity claim, while Forbes’s gallery independently shows that the design was featured in luxury-bathtub coverage. These details explain why such objects attract attention, but they do not by themselves prove a market value.

Hidden adjustable leveling feet help stabilize the bathroom tub on different floor surfaces.
- Easy-Care, cUPC-Certified Acrylic: The smooth, high-gloss acrylic surface is non-porous and easy to wipe clean, helping the white bathtub maintain its polished appearance with less routine maintenance. cUPC certification provides added confidence when selecting the tub for a bathroom remodel, primary suite or new installation.
What a practical buyer can take from the list
The Kallista Archeo is the closest entry to a conventional freestanding bath in the sources: the 2023 roundup describes its copper construction, depth, and capacity. That makes it a more practical design reference than the mineral-carved showpieces, but the available coverage does not establish its current price or marketplace availability. The million-dollar entries are best understood as luxury-design stories, not shopping benchmarks.
