Microsoft appointed Tosca Colangeli, formerly president of Kyndryl’s UK and Ireland business, as its UK solutions leader, according to ITPro’s report of 11 January 2023. The role covered UK solutions strategy across Microsoft Cloud portfolio areas including Modern Work, Azure, Dynamics and Surface, alongside collaboration with customers and industry partners. The report establishes the appointment and its remit at that time; it does not confirm whether Colangeli still holds the role today.
Who is Tosca Colangeli?
Before joining Microsoft, Colangeli was president of Kyndryl’s UK and Ireland business, a role she had held since that business began. Kyndryl is an IT infrastructure services provider that separated from IBM.
Colangeli previously spent 21 years at IBM. Among her roles there was general manager of global technology services for the UK and Ireland, ITPro reported.
What was she hired to lead?
ITPro described Colangeli’s appointment as Microsoft UK solutions leader. Her remit was to lead UK solutions strategy across the Microsoft Cloud portfolio, with the report naming four areas:

Why did the move draw attention?
Microsoft and Kyndryl had announced a strategic partnership in November 2021, after Kyndryl separated from IBM. ITPro cited work connecting mainframe data with Microsoft Power Platform and an integrated hybrid-cloud offering that combined Kyndryl managed services, Microsoft Azure software and Dell infrastructure.

What did Microsoft and Colangeli say?
Microsoft UK CEO Clare Barclay said Colangeli brought “a depth of leadership and solutions capability, as well as a passion for helping customers digitise and transform.”
