SEON announced a $94 million Series B on April 19, 2022. IVP led the round, with existing investors Creandum and PortfoLion and angel investors also participating. SEON said it would use the financing to expand internationally, develop its fraud-prevention product, add data integrations, and pursue e-commerce partnerships. It is a historical funding announcement, not the company’s latest financing: SEON announced an $80 million Series C in 2025.
How much did SEON raise, and who invested?
The $94 million was the amount of SEON’s Series B announced on April 19, 2022. The company named IVP as lead investor and said existing investors Creandum and PortfoLion participated, alongside angel investors described as technology-company founders and senior executives. Transaction adviser Taylor Wessing also identified IVP as the lead and confirmed the existing investors’ participation (Taylor Wessing).
SecurityWeek reported that the round brought SEON’s total investment to $107 million at the time (SecurityWeek). That contemporaneous figure is distinct from the larger total SEON later reported after subsequent financing.
What does SEON do?
SEON sells fraud-prevention software to organizations that handle online transactions, including marketplaces, fintech companies, digital health and education services, gaming businesses, and e-commerce companies. It is a business-to-business service, not a consumer product for personal shopping.
#1 Best Overall
In its 2022 announcement, SEON described its platform as API-first software that uses information such as an email address, phone number, IP address, or location to build a digital footprint, then applies machine learning and configurable rules to help identify fraud in real time. These are capabilities described by the company, not independently benchmarked performance claims (SEON’s announcement; SecurityWeek).
How did SEON say it would use the Series B?
SEON announced plans to use the proceeds in four areas:
Rank #2
- 78 pages (45 self-teaching + 33 quizzes/answers)
- Geographic expansion: grow in North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
- E-commerce partnerships: form partnerships with leading e-commerce platforms.
- Product development: improve the platform’s functionality.
- More data integrations: connect additional data sources to the product.
These were stated intentions when the round was announced; the announcement alone does not establish which plans were completed or their results. SEON co-founder and CEO Tamas Kadar said potential customers could trial the product in less than 30 seconds and get it running in less than a day. That is his company-attributed description, not an independently tested integration benchmark (SEON’s announcement).
Was the $94 million Series B SEON’s latest funding?
No. On September 16, 2025, SEON announced an $80 million Series C led by Sixth Street Growth and said its total funding had reached $187 million (SEON’s Series C announcement). The $94 million figure therefore refers specifically to the 2022 Series B, while $187 million is the company-reported cumulative total following the later round.

What do the later growth figures show?
In 2026, SEON reported that annual recurring revenue grew by more than 80% in 2025 and API usage increased by more than 250% from 2024 to 2025 (SEON’s 2026 update). These are company-reported operating figures; the cited update does not make them independently audited performance measures.
The 2022 release also said SEON served more than 5,000 merchants and had helped save over €50 million in potentially fraudulent transactions. Those, too, are figures supplied by the company, not independently audited outcomes (SEON’s announcement).
