Can you still claim money from the Cash App settlement?
No. The claim deadline was November 18, 2024. The settlement administrator says it is no longer accepting claims, so a late form or a call to the administrator cannot reopen the filing period. The administrator’s FAQ reports that the court granted final approval on March 27, 2025, claim review was ongoing, and deficiency notices had been sent.

If you never submitted a claim by the deadline, there is no new claim process described by the administrator. If you did file, the next step is to check any notice sent using the email, mailing address, or other contact information on your claim.
How to check a claim you already filed
- Look for a deficiency notice. Check the email account and physical mail connected with your claim, including spam or junk folders. The FAQ says notices were sent for claims needing additional information.
- Review what the notice requests. Follow the instructions and deadlines in your own notice. The public FAQ does not set out a universal status portal or a single response process for every claimant.
- Ask the administrator about your submission. Call 1-866-615-9740 or write to Cash App Security Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Have your claim details and any notice available. Verify contact details on the official contact page before sharing personal information.
- Update your mailing address if it changed. The FAQ instructs claimants to notify the administrator when their address changes after they submitted a claim.
The FAQ says payments to approved claims would be issued after the deficiency process was complete. It does not provide a definite distribution date, confirm the status of any one claim, or establish that payments have begun. Who the settlement covered
The case, Salinas, et al. v. Block, Inc. and Cash App Investing, LLC, Case No. 22-cv-04823, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The administrator’s FAQ describes the class as current or former Cash App and/or Cash App Investing customers whose personal information or account was accessed or obtained without authorization, or who experienced unauthorized or fraudulent withdrawals or transfers, or an error-resolution deficiency involving a Cash App or linked financial account, during August 23, 2018 through August 20, 2024. The settlement documents contain the controlling legal definition.
Simply having a Cash App account did not by itself meet the described criteria. The FAQ distinguishes unauthorized account events from ordinary transaction problems: an account takeover followed by a transfer without permission is an example of a covered event, while accidentally sending money to the wrong person or not receiving an item from a seller is not.

The plaintiffs alleged unauthorized access to Cash App Investing account data by a former employee in 2022, unauthorized access to certain Cash App accounts in 2023 using recycled phone numbers, and inadequate controls or complaint resolution involving unauthorized or fraudulent transactions. Block and Cash App Investing denied wrongdoing or liability. The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.

The settlement fund was US $15,000,000, according to the administrator’s FAQ. That figure was not a guaranteed payment per person. Attorneys’ fees and costs, a representative service payment, and administration expenses were to be paid before the remaining fund was used for timely, valid, approved claims. If approved claims exceeded the net fund, payments could be reduced pro rata; a remaining balance could be distributed pro rata among valid approved claimants or donated if too little remained to distribute.

These categories and maximums applied only to a timely filed, valid claim that received approval. The FAQ does not establish that every approved claimant received the listed maximums; the available net fund could affect payment amounts.

What to do if you disagree with a notice or cannot find your claim
- Use the administrator contact details above to ask whether the claim was received and whether the administrator needs anything from you.
- If you received a deficiency notice, use that notice’s instructions rather than assuming that a new form or general inquiry will satisfy the request.
- If your contact details changed, tell the administrator so future correspondence can reach you.
- For a question about the legal definition, settlement terms, or court approval, refer to the official case documents. Individual claim decisions and status are handled by the administrator.
