For official headline figures, use Uzbekistan’s dated National Statistics Committee releases. To find imports or exports for a particular product and trading partner, use UN Comtrade and specify the reporter, partner, product classification and code, period, and trade flow. Record those choices—and whether the data are preliminary—so the result can be checked and compared accurately.
Choose the right source for the question
Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee publishes dated foreign-trade releases that provide official national context. For example, its January–December 2025 release reports goods and services separately. A later release, preliminary data for January 2026, is explicitly identified as preliminary. Use the release that matches the period you need, and preserve its status when quoting a figure.
For a reproducible lookup broken down by both product and partner, use the UN Comtrade query interface. The national releases are useful for dated headline context; the Comtrade query offers the documented dimensions needed to examine a product with a chosen partner.
Run a product-by-partner query in UN Comtrade
- Set the period and frequency. Choose annual or monthly data and select the period or periods you want. Use the same periods when comparing results.
- Set the reporter. Choose Uzbekistan as the reporting country. The reporter is the country whose trade statistics are being queried.
- Choose the partner scope. Select a specific country for bilateral trade, multiple countries for partner-level rows, or World for the aggregate partner. World and a named partner answer different questions.
- Select the product classification and code. Choose a supported system, such as HS, SITC, BEC, or as-reported, then select the commodity code or total. A product name by itself is not enough to make the lookup reproducible: codes can differ by classification, so note both the classification and code.
- Choose the trade flow. Select imports or exports. Query the flows separately if you need to compare them, and retain the flow selection with each result.
- Review and save the result details. Check which periods and partner records are available, then record the publisher, reporter, period, flow, classification and code, partner scope, and any preliminary or final status stated by the source.
The UN Comtrade query guide explains the available dimensions and options. Classic mode applies defaults to trade flows and other fields; Plus exposes additional dimensions where reported, so check the selections rather than assuming that an unadjusted default matches your question.

Make comparisons that actually match
Before comparing two values—whether across partners, years, or imports and exports—align the period, flow, product classification and code, partner scope, and value or quantity measure. Also check whether a national figure is preliminary or final. A mismatch in any of these can produce totals that look comparable but answer different questions.
For a national headline total, cite the relevant committee release and its date and status. For a product-and-partner result, retain the Comtrade query settings alongside the number. This makes clear whether a figure represents one partner or World, goods or another selected dataset, imports or exports, and which code system defines the product.

UN Comtrade says it regularly updates data as official information becomes available from statistical authorities. It does not set a fixed posting schedule for each individual country, so availability for a particular Uzbekistan period may vary. Check the database for the period you need rather than assuming a standard release date.
The public preview is capped at 500 records. Download and delivery limits vary with registration or subscription, and access terms can change. For large or recurring pulls, check the current UN Comtrade API documentation and its access terms before building a workflow around a particular limit.
