The 1.99% Model Y APR and free Model 3 Performance paint offer in this headline were reported in July 2024 and are no longer current terms. As of October 4, 2026, Tesla’s U.S. offers page lists 1.99% APR for four non-Performance Model Y trims and 3.99% for Model Y Performance, subject to credit and other conditions. The 2024 report also described free Model 3 Performance paint with an FSD purchase; it does not establish that incentive is still available.
What did Tesla’s 2024 promotion include?
A July 19, 2024 Notebookcheck report said Tesla was offering 1.99% APR financing on Model Y orders placed by August 31, 2024, with delivery required by the end of September 2024. According to the report, the offer replaced an earlier 0.99% promotion. Those order and delivery deadlines have passed, so they should not be treated as current financing terms. Notebookcheck’s July 19, 2024 report is the source for these historical details.
The same report said Model 3 Performance buyers could choose any paint color, including Ultra Red, at no extra charge if they also bought Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Notebookcheck described the paint incentive as offsetting a $2,000 paint option and calculated an effective FSD price of $6,000. Those figures describe the 2024 promotion and the publication’s calculation, not current Tesla pricing or an offer confirmed to remain available. The report’s linked Tesla social post could not be independently accessed, so the promotion details are attributable to Notebookcheck rather than independently verified Tesla terms.
What Model Y APR does Tesla list now?
On its U.S. current-offers page, checked October 4, 2026, Tesla lists different rates by Model Y trim. The displayed rates apply to well-qualified buyers with excellent credit who order on or after September 28, 2026. Tesla states a maximum loan term of 72 months and a minimum 5% down payment, plus applicable taxes and fees. Tesla’s U.S. Current Offers page provides the official terms; check the live page and the specific order details because financing offers can change.

Does the Model 3 Performance still get free paint with FSD?
The available evidence establishes that Notebookcheck reported this package in July 2024, but it does not establish a current free-paint-with-FSD offer. Tesla’s current U.S. offers page lists Model 3 Performance at 1.99% APR, but that financing listing does not confirm a paint incentive or require an FSD purchase. Verify any paint pricing and FSD terms shown for the buyer’s location and order before budgeting.

What should buyers verify before ordering?
- Location: The current financing rates cited here are from Tesla’s U.S. offers page; they should not be assumed to apply in other markets.
- Trim and rate: Model Y Performance is listed at 3.99%, while the four other trims shown are listed at 1.99%.
- Eligibility and loan structure: Confirm credit approval, the 5% minimum down payment, taxes and fees, and the loan term in the official terms and order details.
- Offer timing: Confirm the order date requirement and current availability on Tesla’s live page. The August and September 2024 deadlines belong only to the expired historical offer.
- Paint and FSD: Treat free Model 3 Performance colors with FSD as a past reported incentive unless Tesla’s current order configuration explicitly shows it.
