How to check whether EPF interest is credited
- Open the official EPF Member Passbook portal.
- Sign in with your UAN, password and the verification field shown on the page. The service is labelled “EPF Passbook & Claim Status.”
- Open the relevant member account or passbook view and inspect the transaction entries for the annual interest credit.
The passbook is the documented route for checking account information. The public portal cannot show whether a particular member’s interest has been credited; you need to sign in to see your own account. The official sources cited here do not establish a current-year posting schedule or a complete escalation process for an entry that is missing.
What the EPFO interest update says—and what it does not
An EPFO circular dated 26 May 2025 records the Central Government’s approval of 8.25% interest for FY 2024–25 under paragraph 60(1) of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, and directs that it be credited to each member’s account in accordance with the scheme.
EPFO’s July–September 2025 newsletter reported that 32.39 crore member accounts had received FY 2024–25 interest by 8 July 2025, out of an account base of 33.56 crore. The newsletter described this as 96.51% of member accounts. Those figures reflect the reported position on that date; they do not tell you the status of your account or establish a newer rate or credit update.

Can you check EPF interest in UMANG?
EPFO says its services are available through UMANG, but the official pages cited here do not document the full in-app path for opening an interest entry. Use the passbook portal above when you need to inspect passbook information.
If you need to activate your UAN
EPFO’s member portal documents this UMANG route for UAN activation: download the app through an official app store, choose “EPFO Services,” then “UAN Services Through Face Auth,” then “UAN Activation,” and follow the instructions in the app. These steps are for activating a UAN, not a verified sequence for viewing interest credits.

Other EPF balance-enquiry options
The EPF Member Passbook page also lists a missed-call balance enquiry at 9966044425 and an SMS option: send EPFOHO UAN <LAN> to 7738299899. EPFO presents these as balance-enquiry options; use the passbook portal to inspect passbook entries. Check the live official page for current contact details before using them.
Protect your UAN and personal details
- Use official EPFO and UMANG routes. Do not give your UAN password or OTP to a caller or third party.
- EPFO warns members not to share Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or OTPs in response to calls, and says it does not ask for monetary deposits.
- Do not pay anyone who promises to release interest or check your account. The member portal also warns about UAN and password theft.
