Nestlé Pakistan says its Sheikhupura and Khanewal facilities are fully automated and connected to Nestlé’s global diagnostic systems. The claim comes from a briefing recounted by Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance, which also described energy, monitoring, packaging and supply-chain initiatives—but did not publish independently measured savings or emissions results.
What has Nestlé Pakistan modernised?
In a release dated 8 December 2025, Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance said Nestlé Pakistan CEO Jason Avancena briefed Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on technology-driven manufacturing at the company’s facilities in Sheikhupura and Khanewal. The Ministry reported that both were “fully automated and connected to global diagnostic systems,” putting Pakistan’s operations on a par with leading Nestlé facilities worldwide. This is the Ministry’s account of the CEO’s briefing, not an independent technical audit of either plant. The release does not define which lines or processes are included in “fully automated.” Ministry of Finance release, 8 December 2025.
Which technologies and initiatives did the Ministry describe?
The Ministry’s account lists several measures, without specifying vendors, equipment models, system architecture or implementation dates:
- Automation and diagnostics: Automation at the Sheikhupura and Khanewal facilities, with connections to Nestlé’s global diagnostic systems.
- Energy: Solar and biomass energy systems.
- Monitoring: Digital dashboards.
- Packaging: Packaging described as environmentally improved.
- Supply chain: Automation of supply-chain processes.
The release does not explain how these systems work together or give a plant-by-plant implementation schedule. TechJuice also published an account of the announcement, but the Ministry’s dated release is the primary source for the briefing details. TechJuice coverage.

What benefits are claimed—and what remains unmeasured?
The Ministry said the company presented the initiatives as part of sustainability and technology-driven manufacturing work intended to reduce operating costs and greenhouse-gas emissions. The release gives no measured cost savings, emissions reductions, energy figures, output gains or automation percentages. Those benefits should therefore be understood as stated aims, not quantified results.

The Ministry said the company’s delegation reported that imports had fallen from around USD 150 million to approximately USD 76–80 million over the prior three years. The release does not identify this as an independently audited figure or provide a more detailed breakdown, so it should be treated as company-reported information relayed by the Ministry, not as a verified measure of plant-modernisation results.
