Love Is Blind creator and showrunner Chris Coelen says production pays for the engagement rings contestants select from the show’s options, and recipients keep those production-provided rings if an engagement ends. Coelen described the usual price range as $3,500–$5,000 in a 2025 interview, but that broad range does not establish what a particular contestant paid—or whether a ring was upgraded.
Who pays for engagement rings on Love Is Blind?
Coelen told Entertainment Weekly in 2025 that production gives contestants a selection and pays for the rings they choose. As he put it, “They are involved with choosing the rings, but we give them a selection, we pay for the rings, and they pick something out that they feel like makes sense for them.”
Contestants are not required to take a production-provided ring. Reporting by Us Weekly and PopSugar describes contestants bringing their own rings, including a family ring. That is a separate situation from choosing a ring paid for by the show.
Do contestants keep the ring after a breakup?
For a ring supplied and paid for by production, Coelen said, “We supply them with the rings, and at that point, those rings are theirs.” He said recipients are not required to return those rings if the engagement ends. This describes the show’s policy for its supplied rings; it does not settle the ownership of a personal or heirloom ring, or of an upgrade.

How much do the rings cost?
In the 2025 interview, Coelen described the general price range as $3,500–$5,000, while noting that prices vary. This is his broad description, not an independently verified price list, a current retail quote, a resale valuation, or a confirmed cost for any specific ring. TV Insider also reported his comments on the range and payment policy.
What about upgrades or a contestant’s own ring?
Coelen said contestants may upgrade a ring, but production has no role in that upgrade. His general explanation does not establish whether a named contestant chose one or who paid for it. Likewise, a contestant bringing a personal or family ring is not covered by the policy for rings production provides.

There is some season-specific sourcing context: Us Weekly reported that Bridal Rings Co supplied rings for seasons 4 and 5. That detail should not be assumed to apply to every season. In a 2020 interview, Coelen told Entertainment Tonight that contestants were living at the pod facility and could not go to a shop at that stage, so production offered ring choices.
