New Jersey WARN Notices 2025: How to Find and Read the Official Archive

Use NJDOL’s official 2025 WARN archive to check employers, locations, posting months, listed effective dates, and reported workforce figures—without mistaking a notice for a confirmed layoff.

New Jersey’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) links to the official 2025 WARN notice archive from its File a WARN Notice page. The archive records employers’ reported planned job actions, including where affected workers are located, when a notice was posted, its listed effective date or dates, and the workforce figure reported for that notice. A filing is not confirmation that the action happened as announced.

How to find a New Jersey WARN notice from 2025

  1. Open NJDOL’s File a WARN Notice page.

  2. Follow the link to the 2025 notice archive. NJDOL also links to archives for other years and a full archive.

  3. In the PDF, locate the employer and check the “Month Posted,” “Effective Date,” and “Workforce Affected” columns. Use the listed city or geographic scope to distinguish entries when an employer appears more than once.

The PDF’s posting month and effective date answer different questions. “Month Posted” identifies when the notice appears in the archive; “Effective Date” gives the planned timing of the job action stated in that notice. Some notices posted in 2025 list effective dates in 2026.

What the 2025 archive lists

These selected entries illustrate the archive’s fields; they are not a ranking or a complete statewide count.

Employer Location or scope Month posted Listed effective date(s) Workforce affected
Walmart Hoboken February June 13, 2025 481
Novartis East Hanover March June 13 through October 24, 2025 427
Rite Aid Locations throughout New Jersey May Rolling basis beginning June 4, 2025 1,122
Novo Nordisk Plainsboro September December 31, 2025 811
Amazon Jersey City October January 26, 2026 72

Figures and dates above are notice-level entries transcribed from NJDOL’s 2025 archive. The Amazon entry is a 2025-posted notice with a 2026 listed effective date, not a 2025 effective date.

How to interpret the workforce figure and dates

“Workforce Affected” is tied to a notice

The archive’s workforce number is the figure listed for that notice. It is not, by itself, a count of confirmed separations. Employers may appear in multiple rows, and a notice can list multiple effective dates. Do not add selected rows—or treat an unreviewed sum of the archive as a statewide annual total—without checking the full archive for repeat entries and changed or withdrawn notices.

Effective dates describe a plan, not a verified result

A WARN notice reports a planned closing or layoff. The archive alone does not establish that the action ultimately occurred exactly as announced. Its dates should be described as listed or planned dates, rather than proof of when workers actually lost jobs.

What NJDOL says about filings and changes

NJDOL says employers should comply with federal WARN requirements where applicable and provide New Jersey notice to affected employees, union representatives, the Department through its online portal, and the chief elected official of the municipality where the employment site is located. Employers unable to use the portal are directed to contact Rapid Response for alternatives. The Department says previously submitted notices can be modified or retracted by sending updates to NJDOL.

NJDOL also states that its legal summary is informational and that the Department has neither enforcement nor rulemaking authority under the New Jersey WARN Act. Its page quotes the statutory name as the “Millville Dallas Airmotive Plan Job Loss Notification Act, N.J.S.A. 34:21-1 et seq.” For legal interpretation, consult the statute or a qualified lawyer; the filing page is not an enforcement determination.

Where workers and employers can get support

NJDOL’s Rapid Response program assists employers and workers involved in a closing or permanent mass layoff. The department describes support that includes information about unemployment insurance and claims, reemployment assistance and referrals, resume development, training assistance, and job fairs.
