But a fit is not the same as an easy close: Pack Hacker found that on the 2nd Edition, a laptop that shifts upward or a tightly packed bag can get in the way of the main zipper. If you plan to carry a computer daily, check closure with your actual device and usual load, not just the screen size.
Which Tokyo Tote do the reviews cover?
The available reviews describe two different editions, so their details should not be treated as one fully verified specification sheet. Karen S. Freeman’s June 2020 iMore review covers the original Tokyo Tote. Pack Hacker’s review covers the Tokyo Tote 2nd Edition.
Both reviews describe a 15-liter tote with a sleeve for a 13-inch laptop. The iMore review gives dimensions of 36 × 47 × 13 cm (14.17 × 18.5 × 5.12 in); Pack Hacker lists 36.1 × 47 × 13 cm and a weight of 0.6 kg (1.43 lb) for the 2nd Edition. These are specifications reported by the reviewers, not independent measurements.
Will a 13-inch laptop fit—and can you zip the tote closed?
The sleeve is sized for a laptop up to 13 inches, but the device’s actual dimensions and position inside the bag matter. On the 2nd Edition, Pack Hacker reports that a 13-inch MacBook fits, yet it can obstruct the main zipper if it rides upward or the tote is packed full. That makes the zipper the practical fit test: try closing it with your laptop and normal work items in place.

Pack Hacker also notes that the 2nd Edition’s laptop sleeve is padded but has no false bottom. The computer may hit the surface below when you put it into the tote, so handle it carefully and consider separate protection if you need cushioning beneath the laptop. The review does not establish a specific compatible accessory.
How much can it carry, and how is the space organized?
The reviews list 15 liters of capacity. In the original tote, iMore describes a top zipper, a front pocket with an Aquaguard zipper, two smaller interior pockets, and two collapsible pockets intended for items such as bottles or umbrellas. That layout can separate everyday essentials, but those pocket details come from the 2020 review; confirm the arrangement on the generation you are considering.

A 15-liter rating gives a broad sense of volume, not a guarantee that every combination of bulky items will fit while leaving the laptop sleeve and main zipper unobstructed. Pack Hacker’s zipper finding is especially relevant if you carry a computer alongside a full set of work gear.
Is the Tokyo Tote comfortable when it is full?
The reviews report different experiences with the handles. The iMore reviewer found them comfortable and noted traction dots on the underside. Pack Hacker says the handles can dig into the shoulder when the tote is heavily loaded. Those observations are not necessarily contradictory: comfort can change as the load gets heavier and more concentrated on the shoulder.

If you expect to carry a laptop, charger, water bottle, and other work items regularly, judge the bag at roughly your usual load rather than empty. The available reviews do not provide a tested maximum carrying weight.
What are the materials and water-resistance details?
iMore describes the original tote as made with water-resistant fabric and reports that its Marine Blue sample used Baida Nylon made from recycled industrial materials. The review says other colorways used different nylon or canvas fabrics. That material statement applies to the reviewed Marine Blue version; it should not be assumed to describe every color or the 2nd Edition.

Is it worth buying for work and everyday carry?
The Tokyo Tote looks suited to someone who wants a tidy everyday tote with a dedicated 13-inch laptop sleeve and some organization. Its main trade-offs are practical rather than hidden: the 2nd Edition’s zipper may be obstructed by laptop position or a full load, its sleeve lacks a false bottom, and shoulder comfort may decline under heavier loads.
Before buying, confirm the exact edition, its current dimensions and pocket layout, and the seller’s current price, availability, and warranty. The reviews establish neither current pricing nor current availability, so those details need to be checked on the live listing.
