In August 2020, OnlyFans creator Deniece “Niece” Waidhofer sued Thothub, alleging that the site reposted her copyrighted images without permission. She also sought information that could help identify the people behind the site and named companies she said supported it through infrastructure services or advertising. Those were allegations in a complaint—not findings that a court had established.
What Waidhofer alleged
Waidhofer filed the lawsuit on August 3, 2020, according to VICE/Motherboard’s contemporaneous report. The complaint, as summarized in that report, alleged Thothub republished lingerie and nude images she had provided to paying subscribers through OnlyFans or Patreon.
The complaint reportedly said her paid page cost $14.99 per month. That figure describes an allegation about Waidhofer’s page at the time; it is not a current subscription price or a general figure for OnlyFans.
The reporting does not establish how many of her images appeared on Thothub, the extent of any resulting financial loss, or that a court found copyright infringement. Those questions should not be treated as settled facts.

Why Cloudflare, Chaturbate and BangBros were mentioned
The complaint reportedly sought information from Cloudflare and advertisers that might help identify Thothub’s operators. It also alleged that Cloudflare provided infrastructure services and that advertising revenue helped sustain the site. These were allegations about the companies’ connection to Thothub, not judicial findings that they knowingly enabled infringement.
Chaturbate and BangBros told VICE/Motherboard that their ads had been placed through third-party advertising networks. Chaturbate said it contacted those advertisers to stop traffic from Thothub; BangBros said it would ask its network to exclude the site. Engadget’s August 4, 2020 report also summarized the companies’ explanations.

Thothub’s response to the takedown dispute
Waidhofer’s complaint reportedly said she had flagged material and did not receive an adequate response. Thothub disputed receiving a valid takedown request. Its spokesperson told VICE/Motherboard: “We did not receive any valid DMCA request and no valid information for removals on that front page link.” The publication reported that Thothub removed images after it contacted the site to verify Waidhofer’s request. These accounts are attributed statements and reporting, not a court’s resolution of the dispute.
Thothub also claimed in 2020 that it removed “about 200 entries” per week from its main page and forums and had a dedicated team for handling illicit material. That was the site’s own, unverified average—not an independently established moderation figure.

What the lawsuit sought—and what the record establishes
VICE/Motherboard reported that Waidhofer sought help identifying Thothub’s operators, an order to stop the alleged infringement, and damages. Reporting those requested remedies does not mean they were granted.
A 2026 Virginia Law Review article says Thothub shut down within days of the lawsuit, before a judgment or injunction. The shutdown is not evidence that a court ordered it, that Waidhofer prevailed, or that the defendants were found liable. The sources cited here do not establish the final disposition of her claims.
