The latest market-specific evidence in hand is mixed: PlayStation’s UK page listed the console as out of stock, Sony Store Singapore showed a backorder with shipping to be confirmed, and a US restock report described major retailers as sold out in its September 17–19, 2026 snapshot. Check the retailer in your country before paying; stock can change quickly.

|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | PlayStation’s official PS5 Pro page said “Currently Out of stock, check back soon.” | Not listed as available to buy on that page when checked. Recheck the live page and any authorized retailer before relying on the status. |
| Singapore | Sony Store Singapore displayed the console as a backorder, with shipping to be confirmed, and offered a back-in-stock notification. | A backorder or notification is not confirmation of immediate dispatch or a delivery date. |
| United States | Tom’s Guide’s restock report said Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target and PlayStation Direct were out of stock in its September 17–19, 2026 snapshot. | This is dated reporting, not a live inventory feed. Check each retailer directly for current availability. |
| Japan | Tom’s Hardware reported a Sony Store application and lottery for eligible Japanese customers, with applications opening October 7 and sales to ticket holders October 26. | The reported terms were Japan-specific, not a general global preorder route. Confirm current eligibility and dates with the official Sony Store in Japan. |
How to tell whether a listing is genuinely available
“In stock,” “backorder,” “pre-order,” and “notify me” do not mean the same thing. Before purchasing, verify the seller’s actual checkout status and expected fulfillment, then compare the total cost and purchase terms.
- Seller: Distinguish Sony or an authorized retailer from a marketplace third-party seller.
- Condition: Check whether the unit is new, open-box, pre-owned, or refurbished.
- Fulfillment: Confirm whether it is ready to ship or pick up, on backorder, or only available for notifications. Look for an actual delivery or pickup estimate.
- Total price: Include shipping and any marketplace markup. A September US report noted some third-party listings above $1,300; that is not a standard retail price or a current quote.
- Returns and warranty: Read the terms for that seller and condition rather than assuming they match a new console bought directly from Sony.
The same US report mentioned possible open-box units at selected Best Buy locations and used or refurbished GameStop listings that varied by location. These are alternatives to new retail stock, not equivalent offers; check the specific unit’s condition, seller, price, return terms, and warranty.

What the PS5 Pro package includes—and what it does not
The PS5 Pro is a digital-only console: it has no disc drive built in. Sony sells a compatible PS5 Disc Drive separately, so add its cost if you need to play physical games or media. The UK product page also lists the vertical stand separately.
Sony lists a 2TB SSD, one DualSense controller, horizontal feet, an HDMI cable, a power cord, printed documentation, and Astro’s Playroom preinstalled in the package. Some SSD capacity is reserved for system functions, so usable storage is lower and can vary. Regional model identifiers may differ; Sony’s UK page identifies model CFI-7021.

Check today’s price in your own market
Sony’s September 10, 2024 announcement gave launch MSRPs of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY, including tax. Those are historical launch prices, not a guarantee of today’s price. Tom’s Guide reported a US retail price of $899 as of March 2026 after an increase from the $699 launch price; that US figure should not be applied to other countries or treated as a current quote. Check the live local retailer listing before budgeting or comparing offers.
What the Pro upgrade promises
In its September 2024 announcement, Sony said the Pro has 67% more GPU Compute Units and 28% faster memory than the then-current PS5, enabling rendering up to 45% faster. Sony also said ray-tracing rays could be cast at double and sometimes triple the speed. These are Sony’s stated comparisons, not independent measurements; Pro enhancements apply only to selected games and vary by title, so they do not guarantee a particular resolution or frame rate in every game.
