Its AWS Strategic Collaboration Agreement is a separate, earlier development, announced on May 14, 2025. The announcements describe a platform spanning agent connections, workflows, developer tools, business context and deployment—not one new agent product. The details below reflect Boomi’s statements, not independent testing.
What did Boomi announce about agentic AI?
At Boomi World on May 13, 2026, Boomi said it was expanding the Boomi Enterprise Platform across five areas: governed agent connectivity, orchestrated agentic workflows, agentic engineering, grounded agent context and localized agent infrastructure. Named capabilities include Boomi Connect, the MCP Registry, Boomi Orchestrate, Agent SIM, Boomi Companion, embedded Agentstudio agents, Knowledge Hub, Meta Hub and Distributed Agent Runtime. Boomi’s announcement describes the intended product capabilities; it does not establish independent performance results.
Connections and governance
Boomi describes Connect as a managed way to connect AI tools with enterprise applications and govern access. Its May 2026 Book of Innovations says Connect can link AI interfaces to more than 1,000 enterprise tools through a managed MCP service; that scale figure is Boomi’s product claim. The May 2026 release article says Connect had officially launched and describes managed MCP connectors for governed access to enterprise applications.
The MCP Registry is presented as a catalog for discovering and managing MCP servers. In general, MCP support concerns how AI applications connect to tools and data sources; the announcement does not provide an independent assessment of the registry’s coverage or security effectiveness.

Workflows and availability
Boomi Orchestrate is designed to combine agents, APIs, integrations, event streams and data models in a workflow experience. Boomi’s September 2026 platform release states that Orchestrate would become generally available starting September 12, 2026, for internal employees, US customers and US-based TPP partners. That stated rollout scope should not be read as universal availability. The September release is the source for the date and scope.
Agent SIM is identified by Boomi as a Labs Innovation preview, rather than a generally available capability. The 2026 announcement describes it as part of the agentic engineering area.
Developer tools and context
Boomi Companion is aimed at developer workflows, including designing, building, testing, deploying and diagnosing integrations through natural language. A July 2026 update describes Companion as an open-source suite of Agent Skills for working with the platform through natural language. That update describes the suite; it is not evidence of independently measured productivity gains.
Knowledge Hub and Meta Hub are positioned as sources of context and business definitions for both agents and people. The May announcement also mentions embedding Agentstudio agents, as well as Distributed Agent Runtime under localized agent infrastructure. The announcement outlines these product areas but does not, by itself, establish detailed regional deployment options or data-residency guarantees.

What is Boomi’s AWS collaboration?
Boomi and AWS announced a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement on May 14, 2025—one year before the 2026 agentic AI announcements. The companies said the agreement aimed to help customers build, manage, monitor and govern generative AI agents and accelerate migrations of SAP systems from on-premises environments to AWS. Boomi’s announcement describes the agreement’s goals and planned technical work.
How Agent Control Tower relates to Amazon Bedrock
The 2025 announcement describes a technical integration pairing Amazon Bedrock with Boomi Agent Control Tower. Boomi characterizes Agent Control Tower as providing centralized governance and visibility for agents across hybrid and multicloud environments. The announcement also discusses an enhanced Agent Designer using Amazon Q index. These are details of the collaboration as described by Boomi; they should not be confused with a third-party evaluation of governance or monitoring outcomes.
Boomi’s release quoted Steve Lucas, then Boomi chairman and CEO, saying: “Our Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS comes at a critical inflection point where enterprise AI adoption requires a delicate balance between innovation and governance,” AWS VP, Data & AI GTM Rahul Pathak said: “As we’ve worked with thousands of customers adopting generative AI, one thing has become clear — enterprises need robust solutions to effectively deploy, monitor, and govern AI agents across their technology environments,”

Together, the announcements show the breadth of Boomi’s stated product direction and a prior AWS partnership, but they do not establish comparative performance against other enterprise agent platforms. Boomi’s May 2026 Book of Innovations reports that 96% of agentic use cases depend on deep access to core enterprise systems, citing Boomi’s 2026 report on Scaling Agentic AI. This is a Boomi-reported statistic, not an independently verified industry-wide finding. The Book of Innovations is the source for the figure.
Best Value
For organizations assessing fit, useful comparison questions include whether a platform supports the required agent and tool connections, governance and monitoring controls, workflow patterns, enterprise context, deployment locations and regional controls. Documented availability and integration requirements also matter; the announcements do not answer all of those implementation questions for every organization.
Boomi Chief Product and Technology Officer Ed Macosky summarized the company’s view in its May 2026 innovation release: “For agentic AI, that moment is now.” The release contains the statement.
