NVIDIA reported $96.2 billion in revenue for its fiscal second quarter of 2027, up 106% year over year, as Data Center revenue reached $89.0 billion, up 117%. The company attributed the Data Center increase to the ramp of Blackwell Ultra infrastructure. Those are revenue figures—not, by themselves, proof that Blackwell caused the same increase in profit or that it alone drove the quarter.
What NVIDIA reported in fiscal Q2 2027
The quarter ended July 26, 2026. NVIDIA’s August 26 results release reported $96.2 billion in total revenue, up 106% year over year, and $89.0 billion in Data Center revenue, up 117%. In its results and Form 10-Q, the company identified the Blackwell Ultra infrastructure ramp as a major driver of Data Center growth.
Data Center accounted for most of the reported revenue, but NVIDIA’s attribution is not a full breakdown of how much Blackwell contributed to revenue, operating income, or earnings per share. “Earnings through the roof” is a headline shorthand; the figures above are revenue, the amount the company brought in before expenses.
How much of NVIDIA’s revenue comes from Blackwell?
NVIDIA has not disclosed a Blackwell-only share of total revenue in the cited quarterly results. Its filing links the Blackwell Ultra ramp to Data Center growth, but does not isolate Blackwell sales as a separate line item or establish that Blackwell alone caused the increase. Data Center revenue was $89.0 billion out of $96.2 billion total in fiscal Q2 2027; that segment figure includes more than one product and service.

The scale of the broader business helps put the quarter in context. NVIDIA reported $68.1 billion in total revenue and $62.3 billion in Data Center revenue for fiscal Q4 2026, then $215.9 billion in revenue for full fiscal 2026, up 65% for the year. These earlier company-reported figures show how quickly the business was expanding; they do not measure Blackwell’s individual contribution.
What is Blackwell Ultra, and who buys it?
Blackwell is a family of NVIDIA products, not one interchangeable chip or graphics card. The results story centers on data-center infrastructure: accelerators and systems used to provide computing capacity for AI workloads. NVIDIA also associates Blackwell with workstation and consumer graphics products. Those products serve different buyers and workloads, so sales of a GeForce card should not be treated as evidence of data-center system revenue.
Data-center infrastructure
NVIDIA management described demand from hyperscalers, AI labs, AI-native companies, enterprises, and sovereign customers. On the August 26, 2026 earnings call, CEO Jensen Huang said the AI infrastructure buildout was being supported by that expanding customer mix. These are management’s descriptions of demand, not an independent measure of adoption or customer returns.
Management also said hyperscaler revenue was $49 billion, up 13% sequentially, and attributed strength to Blackwell. Those figures and explanations are company commentary on the call. They do not establish that all hyperscaler spending went to Blackwell or that announced spending will become completed purchases.

Consumer and workstation graphics
A consumer Blackwell product exists: NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. It may be relevant to someone choosing a graphics card for a compatible PC, but it is not a consumer version of the large-scale data-center infrastructure behind the main revenue story. NVIDIA’s May 2025 release also listed RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 among its Blackwell graphics cards; current prices, inventory, and configurations are not established by that dated announcement.
What the results mean—and what they do not
The reported numbers show exceptional growth concentrated in NVIDIA’s Data Center business, alongside the company’s stated explanation that the Blackwell Ultra ramp was a major driver. They do not show how much of the growth came from Blackwell alone, how profitable each Blackwell deployment is, or whether customers will earn a return on their AI investments. NVIDIA’s figures and management’s explanations come from the company whose performance is being assessed.
There is also customer concentration to consider. NVIDIA’s Form 10-Q says one direct customer represented 16% of total fiscal Q2 2027 revenue, primarily in Compute & Networking. The filing does not name that customer in this disclosure. A large customer can support near-term sales while also making results more exposed to changes in a small number of buyers’ purchasing plans.

On the earnings call, Huang said NVIDIA expected revenue to grow approximately 70% in fiscal 2028 and explicitly described that outlook as supply-constrained. This is management guidance, not an achieved result, independent consensus, or guaranteed outcome. Actual growth will depend on factors including supply, customer demand, and deployment timing.

NVIDIA and AWS separately announced a plan for AWS to deploy two million additional NVIDIA GPUs in 2027–2028, including Blackwell Ultra and later Rubin products, while expanding Blackwell capacity in EC2 G7 instances. That is a planned multiyear deployment, not evidence that two million GPUs have already been installed or that the full plan will translate into revenue in a particular period.
For people who need AI computing rather than a home graphics card, NVIDIA’s May 2025 release said Blackwell cloud instances were then available through AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. That is a dated availability statement; current regions, instance types, capacity, and prices should be checked with each provider before making a decision.
What personal-finance readers should take away
NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 results provide strong evidence of rapid reported growth and a major role for Blackwell Ultra in Data Center expansion. They are not a complete explanation of earnings, a Blackwell-only sales figure, or a guarantee that growth will continue. For an investment decision, separate reported results from forecasts and consider customer concentration, execution, and the possibility that planned infrastructure spending changes. For a purchase decision, choose between a consumer GPU and cloud compute based on the workload, total cost, system or instance requirements, and availability—not on NVIDIA’s revenue growth alone.
