To check Google Play purchases, open the Play Store app and go to Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history. On the web, use play.google.com → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & Order history. If you are matching a bank charge, check its descriptor and date, then look at Google payments activity and subscriptions too: those records are related, but they are not interchangeable.
Where to find Google Play purchase history
In the Play Store app
- Open the Play Store on your device and tap your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Budget & history to see Google Play app and digital-content orders.
On the web
- Go to play.google.com and open the profile menu.
- Choose Payments & subscriptions → Budget & Order history.
- Review the listed orders and compare them with the charge date and amount on your statement.
Google documents these paths on its order history help page. Labels or screens can vary with app version, device, and region.
Play order history versus Google payments activity
Google Play order history is for Play app and digital-content purchases. The broader Google payments center is a separate place to review other Google payment records and subscriptions:
- At payments.google.com, open Activity to review individual orders.
- Open Subscriptions & services to check subscriptions.
Google says other Google payments and Google Pay transactions do not appear in Google Play order history. A missing entry in Play history therefore does not, by itself, establish that a charge is fraudulent. Check any other Google Accounts you own or manage, review subscriptions, and search the inbox for the purchase confirmation sent to the account used for the order.

How to identify a Google Play charge on a statement
Google Play charges appear with descriptors beginning GOOGLE*, followed by an app developer name, app name, or content type such as books. Compare the full descriptor and transaction date with your order history before deciding what to do. Google states that a charge found in Google Play order history is from Google Play. See Google’s guidance for charges you do not recognize.
What to do if a charge is missing, pending, or unfamiliar
If you cannot find the order
Check the Play history for each Google Account you use, then check payments.google.com for individual activity and subscriptions. A subscription or order associated with another account may not show in the account currently open in Play Store.

If the statement shows a pending entry
Google says a canceled order can leave a temporary pending charge; duplicate authorizations may also appear, and adding a payment method can trigger a small temporary authorization. Check for a matching completed order or subscription before reporting the entry as unauthorized. Google’s unauthorized-charge guidance covers these situations.
If you still do not recognize the transaction
- Check the descriptor. If it begins with a Google Play format, verify it against your orders, other Google Accounts, and subscriptions.
- Use the route that matches the purchase. If a friend or family member accidentally made the purchase, request a refund. If nobody you know made it and the Google Play charge appears unauthorized, report it to Google.
- Contact your payment provider when the descriptor is not a listed Google Play format. Google says such a charge did not come from Google Play and advises contacting the payment provider’s fraud department.
Google’s current help guidance, accessed in 2026, gives reporting windows of 120 days for unauthorized credit-card, debit-card, or PayPal transactions and 60 days for mobile-carrier billing. These are Google’s stated time limits for handling reports, not a promise that a refund will be issued. See Google’s reporting guidance.

Refunds and unauthorized-charge reports are different
A refund request is appropriate when someone you know made an accidental purchase. An unauthorized-charge report is for a purchase made by someone unknown to you. Google’s refund guidance says eligibility depends on what was purchased, when and how it was paid, and your location; a refund is not guaranteed. Review Google Play’s refund policies for the relevant purchase type.
