The revised executive scheme for people who retired on or after 1 January 2007 has grade-based benefit slabs, online enrollment and renewal, and claims routed through designated administrators. Confirm your eligibility and current policy details through BEML’s official PRMS page and your former division or HR office.
Which BEML retiree medical scheme applies?
BEML publishes separate post-retirement schemes. The page most directly relevant to this topic is the revised “BEML Limited Post Superannuation Medical Benefit Scheme for Executives Retired on or after 01.01.2007.” It should not be confused with the older contributory scheme for non-executives superannuated on or after 1 July 2006 and executives superannuated between 1 July and 31 December 2006. BEML’s retirement benefits overview describes these categories.
For the post-2007 executive scheme, BEML’s retirement companion says eligibility includes at least 15 years of continuous company service. It also says executives who do not meet that service threshold may be considered under the older scheme. Since the schemes have different terms, ask your former division or HR office to confirm which one applies to your retirement date and employment category before applying.
BEML’s 2025 retirement companion says the post-superannuation scheme was introduced on 1 June 2016. That launch date is scheme history, not an enrollment or renewal deadline.

What benefits does the executive scheme list?
The revised BEML PRMS page lists different sum assured, OPD and corporate-buffer amounts according to retirement period and former grade or role. These are published slabs, not options retirees can freely select. The figures below reflect the revised page; older tables in BEML’s 2025 retirement companion may differ.
| Retirement period | Former grade or role | Sum assured | OPD amount | Corporate-buffer eligibility |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 January 2007–31 December 2016 | Ex-officers | ₹4 lakh | ₹15,000 | ₹2 lakh |
| 1 January 2007–31 December 2016 | Ex-directors | ₹7 lakh | ₹35,000 | ₹3 lakh |
| 1 January 2007–31 December 2016 | Ex-CMD | ₹8 lakh | ₹40,000 | ₹3 lakh |
| After 1 January 2017 | Ex-officers up to Grade IV | ₹4 lakh | ₹15,000 | ₹2 lakh |
| After 1 January 2017 | Grades V–VII | ₹5 lakh | ₹20,000 | ₹2.5 lakh |
| After 1 January 2017 | Grades VIII–X | ₹6 lakh | ₹25,000 | ₹3 lakh |
| After 1 January 2017 | Ex-directors | ₹8.5 lakh | ₹35,000 | ₹4 lakh |
| After 1 January 2017 | Ex-CMD | ₹10 lakh | ₹40,000 | ₹5 lakh |
BEML says the corporate buffer is available only after the sum assured has been fully used and only for identified critical diseases. The company pays 90% of the premium for the sum assured, with the retiree paying 10%; BEML says it pays the OPD and corporate-buffer premiums. The page also states that COVID-19 is covered when a positive test is followed by hospitalization. These are scheme-page descriptions, not a guarantee that a particular expense or claim will be approved: check the current policy wording and portal for applicable definitions, exclusions and claim conditions.

How do enrollment and renewal work?
BEML says the process is online. The executive PRMS page states: “The process for availing medical insurance is completely online and ‘submitted successfully’ message will appear on the portal after submission.”
- Open BEML’s PRMS page and select the scheme and payment route that match your employee category; do not use a payment link for another scheme.
- Enter the requested personal, spouse and contact details, upload the required documents, and complete the online submission. Check the details carefully: BEML warns that incorrect staff or name information, duplicate or excess payments, and payments through the wrong scheme link may not be refunded.
- After submitting, check for the on-screen “submitted successfully” message. BEML says the insurer sends the e-card to the email address in the application and advises retirees to check the portal for the card.
- If a document was missed or uploaded incorrectly, BEML instructs applicants to log back in, save, upload the document again and submit. The page says not to send enrollment documents or receipts by email, post or courier.
Fresh applicants are directed to their former division, with applications forwarded through the relevant HR department.

BEML’s displayed renewal instructions say payment should be made before one month of policy expiry. The page currently records a 20 June 2026 payment deadline for a policy due for renewal on 3 July 2026; both dates have passed as of 4 October 2026. The next renewal schedule is not established here, so check the PRMS portal or ask BEML for the applicable policy-year dates rather than relying on the expired schedule.

BEML instructs retirees to intimate hospitalization promptly to the support representative named on its PRMS page, so the representative can assist with approvals and discharge. It says Aadhaar and PAN copies are required for reimbursement. The page identifies Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. and Raksha Health Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. for reimbursement submissions, and Sun Risk Management & Insurance Broking Services Pvt. Ltd. for policy assistance, cashless approvals, reimbursement questions and claim grievances.

BEML explicitly says not to send claims to BEML or to the broker. Contact details, addresses and administrator assignments can change, so verify the current instructions and recipient on the live PRMS page before sending personal or medical records.
BEML’s 2025 retirement companion gives a general reimbursement checklist that may include claim forms, patient identity proof, original bills and medical records, investigation reports, discharge summary, implant invoices where applicable, bank details and any additional documents the TPA requests. It also distinguishes hospitalization paperwork from pre- and post-hospitalization documents. Follow the current claim form and TPA instructions for your policy rather than treating this general list as exhaustive.
