Kalshi announced a $1 billion Series E funding round at an $11 billion valuation on December 2, 2025. Paradigm led the round. The valuation was more than double the $5 billion reported less than two months earlier—but $11 billion is no longer the latest valuation Kalshi has announced: in May 2026, the company said it raised another $1 billion at a $22 billion valuation.
What Kalshi’s $1 billion Series E announcement said
Kalshi, a digital prediction-market service where users trade contracts tied to real-world events, announced the Series E on December 2, 2025. The company said the round raised $1 billion at an $11 billion valuation, with Paradigm leading. Other named participants were Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Meritech Capital, IVP, ARK Invest, Anthos Capital, CapitalG, and Y Combinator. Kalshi’s announcement described the funding as intended to support consumer adoption, brokerage integrations, news partnerships, and a broader product offering. Those were stated plans, not confirmation that each initiative was completed.
Why the headline says Kalshi more than doubled its value
The comparison is with a prior reported $5 billion valuation. TechCrunch reported that Kalshi’s earlier $300 million round at that valuation had been announced less than two months before the Series E. At $11 billion, the Series E valuation was 2.2 times the earlier figure—more than double, rather than exactly twice. TechCrunch’s contemporaneous report supplies the earlier round and timing context.
| Announcement | Funding | Announced valuation | Lead investor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Earlier reported round, announced less than two months before Dec. 2, 2025 | $300 million (TechCrunch) | $5 billion (TechCrunch) | Not stated in the cited TechCrunch report |
| Series E, Dec. 2, 2025 | $1 billion | $11 billion | Paradigm |
| Series F, May 7, 2026 | $1 billion | $22 billion | Coatue |
The valuation figures are reported round valuations, not an offer to sell shares to the public. They do not tell an individual investor whether Kalshi stock is available to buy.

The $11 billion figure was later superseded
On May 7, 2026, Kalshi announced a Series F that raised another $1 billion at a $22 billion valuation, led by Coatue. That later company announcement makes $22 billion the latest valuation in the funding announcements covered here; it does not change what Kalshi was valued at when the Series E was announced. Kalshi’s Series F announcement also reported an 800% increase in institutional trading volume over six months and annualized trading volume rising from $52 billion to $178 billion over six months. These are company-reported figures, and the announcement does not provide independently audited methodology for them.
What Kalshi said about its growth
In December 2025, Kalshi said it was “surpassing $1b every week” in trading volume and was “up over 1000% from 2024.” Those are Kalshi’s own reported figures, not independently validated statistics in the cited announcement. The later Series F announcement separately highlighted institutional trading growth; its six-month volume claims should not be treated as directly comparable to the earlier weekly-volume statement because the announcements do not establish a shared measurement basis.

Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour said the company was “replacing debate, subjectivity, and talk with markets, accuracy, and truth.” That is the CEO’s promotional characterization of the business, not an independently demonstrated outcome. Paradigm co-founder and managing partner Matt Huang said, “People come for one type of market and stay for the breadth,” also in the company’s funding announcement.

Kalshi describes itself as a prediction market. Its current homepage presents consumer markets alongside Kalshi Pro, perpetual futures, institutional services, and API and developer resources. The company says trading involves risk: users can lose the cost of entering a transaction, including fees. Its homepage also says Kalshi is subject to U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversight. That statement alone does not establish whether the service is available or permitted in every U.S. state or country; access and rules can depend on jurisdiction.
