Michael Rubin is the founder and CEO of Fanatics, a sports-commerce company that has grown from fan merchandise into trading cards and collectibles, sports betting and prediction markets, events, and media. He is also a philanthropist and the host of an annual, invitation-only White Party in the Hamptons. The latest reported party took place on July 1, 2026, at his home in Bridgehampton, New York.
What does Michael Rubin do?
Rubin leads Fanatics, which describes itself as a global sports platform. Its businesses span officially licensed fan gear, trading cards and collectibles, sports betting and prediction markets, and content, events, and media. Those are company activities; they should not be confused with a list of Rubin’s personal assets or with a claim that he personally owns every Fanatics business unit. Fanatics’ biography of Rubin identifies him as the company’s founder and chief executive.
Fanatics Fest is one example of the company’s move into live events. In 2026 coverage by Boardroom, Rubin recalled the inspiration: “I walked into Comic-Con and said, ‘Why don’t we have this for sports fans?’”
How did Michael Rubin make his money?
Rubin built businesses in commerce before expanding into sports. Fanatics says he founded GSI Commerce, an e-commerce company that eBay bought in 2011 for $2.4 billion. That is the reported sale value of GSI, not a statement of Rubin’s personal proceeds or current net worth.

He later held a stake in the Philadelphia 76ers for more than a decade. In June 2022, he sold it, saying he wanted to concentrate on Fanatics’ expansion. Fanatics’ biography identifies that sale and his reason for making it.
A 2025 Town & Country interview recounts Rubin’s early entrepreneurial efforts: he started a snow-shoveling business at eight, traded cards and seeds, and later opened a ski shop in his parents’ basement. These are details reported in that interview, alongside Rubin’s own reflections on his ambitions and work style.

What is Michael Rubin’s Hamptons White Party?
The White Party is a high-profile summer gathering associated with the Fourth of July. It is held in the Hamptons and draws guests from sports, music, film, and entertainment. The event is a private celebrity gathering, not a public festival: the available coverage does not describe ticket sales or a public admission route.
The 2026 party
El País reported that Rubin held the 2026 party on Wednesday, July 1, at his home in Bridgehampton, New York—not on July 4 itself. Reported among the guests were Martha Stewart, Travis Scott, Emma Roberts, Teyana Taylor, Tate McRae, Tom Brady, and Jay-Z. The outlet also reported performances by Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and Cardi B, with Alicia Keys closing the night. This is a reported selection of attendees, not an official or exhaustive guest list.

El País quoted Rubin, via People, explaining the date: “No queríamos obligar a la gente a elegir”—translated as “We didn’t want to force people to choose.” The article said the move was intended to avoid a clash with another anticipated event.
Why the schedule can change
A 2025 Town & Country profile said Rubin was skipping the White Party that year and planned to alternate it with a REFORM Alliance gala. The 2026 event’s return shows that the 2025 description was not a permanent schedule rule.

These figures describe what the Foundation reports; they are not independent evaluations of the initiatives’ effects.
