Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, launched Sneex on August 20, 2024: a premium shoe brand that combines high-heel styling with sneaker-inspired construction. Sneex’s current collection page describes a 78 mm stiletto heel and lists The Jaymes at $415, while its comfort proposition remains the founder’s goal and the brand’s positioning—not an independently demonstrated advantage over conventional heels.

What Sneex is—and what “heeled sneaker” means here

Sneex is a hybrid footwear line, not a conventional athletic sneaker. The launch announcement presented shoes with high-heel styling and sneaker-inspired construction. At launch, the brand described three strap styles and ten colorways, with fine napa leather and suede sourced from Italy and Spain. Those material and construction details are company-published claims.

The current Sneex collection page describes the design as a 78 mm stiletto with sneaker engineering and says the shoes are handcrafted in Italy. That is the brand’s current description; it does not mean every style or size is available at all times.

Why Sara Blakely says she created it

Blakely has framed Sneex as a response to the discomfort she experienced in heels and the lack of a shoe that offered the look she wanted with a more comfortable feel. Sneex’s About page describes years of innovation and iteration; Vogue reported nine years of development and patent-pending technology claims in its August 19, 2024 launch interview.

In the company’s founder note, Blakely called the shoes her “love letter to every woman who has taken her shoes off at a party, who wears flats to work with heels in her bag, who thought her days of wearing heels were over.” These are her explanation of the idea and the brand’s framing—not quantified evidence about consumers generally.

Vogue’s interview captured the motivation directly: “I’ve been publicly saying someone should invent A comfortable high heel and I just kept waiting,” Blakely said. “I’m not waiting anymore. Clearly, this is not on anyone’s agenda.” The comfort goal is clear, but the sources available here do not establish through independent controlled comparison that Sneex is more comfortable than conventional heels.

What Sneex costs—and what the price figures mean

Price information Source and date How to read it
$395–$595 Vogue, August 19, 2024 Reported range at launch; historical, not a current price list.
$415 for The Jaymes Sneex collection page, accessed October 4, 2026 Price shown on the current page snapshot; assortment, price, and stock may change.

The figures describe different points in time and should not be treated as a like-for-like price comparison across the entire line. Check the live Sneex listing for the style you are considering. The sources cited here do not establish a full current size guide, return policy, or region-specific availability.

How the line has expanded

Sneex has introduced silhouettes beyond its original launch assortment. A company announcement dated March 26, 2026 described the Ballerina as a newer silhouette using the brand’s Hy-Heel innovation. A May 26, 2026 company announcement introduced The Charlie sandal at $395 and described the company’s proprietary, patent-pending INNERPLAY technology. These announcements document product expansion and the company’s technology claims; they are not independent verification of performance.

What to weigh before buying

For a personal-finance decision, separate the design appeal from the claims that could affect value and use. Compare the heel height and silhouette with shoes you already wear, then assess the listed price against your budget and how often you expect to use the pair. Sneex’s 78 mm specification and current displayed Jaymes price are useful reference points, but neither establishes fit or comfort for an individual wearer.

  • Comfort: Treat the improved-comfort idea as the founder’s aim and the brand’s positioning, not a proven head-to-head advantage.
  • Materials and origin: The launch announcement described Italian and Spanish napa leather and suede; the current collection page says the shoes are handcrafted in Italy.
  • Price and purchase terms: Confirm the current style price, size availability, return policy, and shipping terms directly on Sneex’s live product pages before buying.
