TrueBlue points are rewards you can redeem; tiles measure progress toward JetBlue perks and Mosaic status. You can earn both from some activity, but they have different earning rules and uses. Tiles cannot be spent on flights or other products.
What can you do with points and tiles?
| Program measure | What it does | Can you redeem it? |
|---|---|---|
| TrueBlue points | Rewards currency earned through eligible flights, purchases, and partners. | Yes. JetBlue points can be used for eligible award travel and other options listed in its earning and award-travel terms. Costs and availability vary by itinerary and may change. |
| Tiles | Progress toward Mosaic status and associated perks. | No. JetBlue says tiles cannot be redeemed for award flights, Cash + Points bookings, extras, or other JetBlue products. See its Tiles FAQs. |
In practical terms, points can help pay for an eligible redemption; tiles may help unlock benefits if you reach the relevant status threshold. JetBlue does not define tiles as having a cash or points value.
How do you earn tiles?
JetBlue awards tiles for qualifying spend with JetBlue and select partner flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel, and JetBlue credit cards. Its current stated rates are:
- Qualifying travel: 1 tile per $100 spent on qualifying flights, JetBlue Vacations, or TrueBlue Travel.
- JetBlue credit cards: 1 tile per $1,000 of net card purchases.
For qualifying travel spend, JetBlue excludes government taxes and fees and travel insurance. Tile amounts are based on the purchase price in U.S. dollars. Check JetBlue’s Tiles FAQs for the current terms and eligible activity.

Can the same activity earn both points and tiles?
Sometimes. The earning systems overlap, but they are not interchangeable: some extras and fees can earn tiles without earning points, while some ways to earn points—such as shopping and dining partners—are not listed as tile-earning activity.
Tiles may accrue on listed ancillary purchases or fees, including checked bags, EvenMore seats, pet fees, and certain change or cancellation fees. Points have their own earning rules for JetBlue-operated flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel, select partner-airline flights, card purchases, and named points partners. Review JetBlue’s separate tile rules and points rules before assuming a purchase earns both.

How many tiles are needed for Mosaic?
JetBlue’s Mosaic FAQ lists these tile thresholds:
| Mosaic level | Tiles required |
|---|---|
| Mosaic 1 | 50 |
| Mosaic 2 | 100 |
| Mosaic 3 | 150 |
| Mosaic 4 | 250 |
JetBlue says qualifying activity in the current year counts toward the following year’s qualification, and qualifying balances reset on January 1. Mosaic status lasts for the rest of the year in which it is earned plus 13 months. Benefits vary by level and can have eligibility or fare restrictions; consult JetBlue’s Mosaic FAQ and current Mosaic benefits for the applicable terms.

Which should you focus on?
It depends on what you want from the program. Points are useful if you expect to redeem them for an eligible flight or another available option. Tiles matter if your qualifying activity could move you toward a Mosaic threshold and you expect to use the benefits at that level.
- Compare eligible spend, not just total transaction amounts: exclusions and fare rules can affect what counts.
- Do not treat a tile as a guaranteed discount or assign it a points value; it advances status progress rather than funding a redemption.
- Consider redemption availability for points and the specific level’s benefits for tiles. The value of either depends on the options you can actually use.
JetBlue’s TrueBlue overview summarizes the program, while its detailed earning and status pages set out the relevant terms.
