TSMC’s business outlook is strong, but the available figures do not support a defensible share-price target. The company reported US$40.20 billion in second-quarter 2026 revenue, guided to higher third-quarter revenue and margins, and—according to the Associated Press—raised its 2026 revenue-growth outlook to slightly above 40% year over year. Its next scheduled earnings conference is October 15, 2026, so that update is the immediate test of the outlook. Business growth alone does not establish whether TSMC stock is attractively valued.
TSMC’s 2026 operating outlook
TSMC’s [third-quarter results page](https://investor.tsmc.com/english/quarterly-results/2026/q3) lists second-quarter 2026 revenue of US$40.20 billion and management’s third-quarter guidance. The figures below are operating results or company guidance—not forecasts for the share price.

What could support growth—and what investment adds
In its July 16 report, the Associated Press attributed to TSMC chairman and chief executive C.C. Wei the view that AI demand remained robust. Demand for advanced computing can support revenue growth, but the company’s outlook does not by itself show how much future AI spending will translate into durable sales or shareholder returns.

The AP also reported an additional US$100 billion U.S. investment commitment. That is an announced commitment, not evidence that the amount has already been spent. Capacity expansion can enable a company to serve demand, while also raising questions about execution, funding and the returns earned on new investment. The cited reporting does not quantify those effects.
Why the operating forecast is not a stock-price forecast
A share-price target requires more than a revenue-growth estimate. It needs a dated share price, a defined security and currency, a forecast horizon, assumptions about earnings or cash flow, and a valuation method. The evidence available here does not establish a current TSMC share price, valuation multiple, analyst consensus or price target. It therefore cannot answer whether the stock is cheap or predict a particular return.

This distinction matters for investors comparing TSMC’s Taiwan-listed shares with its U.S.-traded ADR: a target must specify which security and currency it covers. A business can grow quickly while its stock performs poorly if expectations already embedded in its price are too high; conversely, valuation could matter differently if expectations or results change. Without the price and valuation inputs, either outcome remains unquantified.
If you evaluate an outside forecast, check that its date and horizon are current, and compare its revenue, earnings and margin assumptions, valuation method, currency and share class. Also examine how it treats AI demand and capital spending, and what events would invalidate its assumptions. A single target without those details is difficult to assess.

The next catalyst: October 15 earnings
TSMC scheduled its third-quarter earnings conference for October 15, 2026, according to its [results page](https://investor.tsmc.com/english/quarterly-results/2026/q3) and [financial calendar](https://investor.cld.tsmc.com/english/financial-calendar). The company listed a quiet period from October 5 through October 14. As of October 4, the conference had not yet taken place; the scheduled date is an event to watch, not a reported result.
When the update arrives, compare what management reports with the guidance in the table, then look for changes in the full-year outlook and explanations of demand, margins and capacity plans. A result can beat or miss prior guidance, but even a business update that meets expectations does not determine how the stock will react; valuation and market expectations also matter.

Risks and limits to the forecast
TSMC’s second-quarter presentation says factors that could cause actual results to differ are described in its 2025 annual report on Form 20-F, filed with the SEC on April 16, 2026, and in subsequent SEC filings. Review those filings for the company’s own risk disclosures rather than assuming a revenue-growth forecast captures them.
The figures and reporting cited here do not quantify the effects of geopolitical developments, trade rules, exchange rates, customer concentration, power or water constraints, overseas-fab costs, or the durability of AI spending. They should be treated as areas for further evaluation, not as risks with established probabilities or numerical impacts in this forecast.
