Cyber Monday had ended, but TechRadar reported several PS5 discounts still available in the US and UK in its December 2, 2025 roundup. Those prices are historical—not current offers—and should not be treated as deals available today.

Which discount made sense for which PS5 owner?

The reported US and UK prices are useful as a historical point of comparison, not proof that a later listing is a bargain. Compare the exact console edition, final checkout price, retailer, stock status, and a credible reference price before deciding whether a current discount is meaningful.
PlayStation Portal
Portal is a handheld accessory for playing without using the television, not a replacement PS5. Sony says it can use Remote Play for compatible games installed on a paired PS5 over Wi-Fi. Remote Play does not require PlayStation Plus membership, according to Sony’s November 5, 2025 announcement. Sony’s Portal cloud-streaming announcement.
#1 Best Overall
Sony also says PlayStation Plus Premium members can stream select digital PS5 games from their library and compatible catalog games directly on Portal. Cloud streaming requires Premium and a high-speed Wi-Fi connection; availability varies by game, time, region, and country. Check regional eligibility and the subscription requirement if streaming is the reason for buying. Sony’s Portal cloud-streaming support page.
DualSense controller
A standard DualSense wireless controller is a straightforward extra or replacement for a PS5 owner. Sony’s manual identifies the product as the DualSense wireless controller. How to judge a PS5 deal now
- Check the live price, inventory, and date you checked the listing; an old sale article cannot confirm any of them.
- Compare the final price, including delivery or other charges, with a defensible reference price rather than relying only on a crossed-out price or “lowest-ever” wording.
- Confirm the product edition and region match what you intend to buy.
- For Portal, decide whether you want Remote Play, cloud streaming, or both, and check whether the subscription and regional requirements fit your use.
