Black Friday 2025 fell on November 28, with Cyber Monday on December 1. Retailers started promotions earlier and used different sale windows, so there was no single start date or universal set of deals. The offers below are historical, not current prices or live promotions.
When were Black Friday 2025 sales?
Black Friday 2025 was Friday, November 28, and Cyber Monday was Monday, December 1. Amazon’s Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday event ran November 20 through December 1, 2025. Target announced an early sale for November 6–8 and a separate Black Friday promotion for November 23–29, 2025. Those dates describe different retailer events, not one shared sale calendar. What kinds of deals did Amazon and Target advertise?
Amazon: broad categories and changing offers
Amazon described deals across home, electronics, beauty, apparel, Amazon devices, toys, books, and travel, among other categories. Its 2025 announcement characterized the event as spanning “more than 35 categories”; that figure is Amazon’s description of its own promotion, not an independent count across retailers. Amazon’s “lowest prices of the year” wording was a promotional claim about selected offers. It does not establish that every listed product was at its lowest historical price, and the 2025 offers have expired.
Target: selected products and category-specific promotions
Target’s early-sale fact sheet listed holiday decor, Lego, toys, small appliances, floorcare, and apparel, and said many offers were 40% off or higher. That discount description applied to offers in the announced promotion, not every item in those categories. Target’s later announcement listed selected deals in tech and video games, toys, small appliances and floorcare, select Beats headphones, apparel, and selected Apple products. Best Buy and Walmart: categories in secondary coverage
TechRadar’s November 12, 2025 guide discussed recurring deal categories such as TVs, headphones, Apple devices, laptops, kitchen appliances, vacuums, clothing, beauty, and toys. These are broad category descriptions in secondary reporting; they do not confirm an exact model, price, stock level, or final offer from either retailer.
How should you judge a Black Friday deal?
A large advertised percentage is not enough to show that a purchase is worthwhile. For a personal-finance decision, compare the product and terms, then decide whether the purchase fits your budget and needs.
- Match the exact item. Check the model and configuration, not just a category such as “laptop” or “TV.” A different model may not be a like-for-like comparison.
- Check the sale window. Early offers, the main Black Friday event, and Cyber Monday can have different dates and terms. A deal listed for one window should not be assumed to continue into another.
- Read eligibility and offer limits. Look for any membership, account, selected-item, or stock conditions stated by the retailer. The 2025 Target announcements included Target Circle offers; confirm the terms that applied to the specific offer rather than treating a headline discount as universal.
- Verify the comparison price. Retailer claims such as “lowest prices of the year” are the retailer’s own claims. The available sources do not establish a cross-retailer typical savings rate or independently verified lowest-ever prices.
- Review fulfillment and return terms. Before paying, check the retailer’s current delivery, pickup, return, and price-adjustment terms for the item. Terms may differ by product and can change; do not assume an old promotion’s rules still apply.
What did Target’s 2025 price-match guarantee cover?
Target described a Holiday Price Match Guarantee running November 1–December 24, 2025. It applied when the price of an eligible item later dropped at Target; it was not a promise to match a competitor’s price.
