Here are 90 original practice questions spanning numerical, verbal, logical, abstract and spatial reasoning, situational judgement, and personality assessments. They are practice examples—not verified questions from employers or a ranking of what interviewers ask most often. Employers and test providers vary the skills, format, and timing by role.

Recruitment assessments may be timed and standardized. The UK National Careers Service describes verbal reasoning as understanding written information, numerical reasoning as working with numbers, and abstract or spatial reasoning as identifying patterns or rules. It also notes that personality inventories have no right or wrong answers. [National Careers Service guidance]

How to use these practice questions

Try each item before reading its answer. For multiple-choice verbal questions, use only the passage given; outside knowledge is not evidence. For numerical and pattern questions, write down the rule or calculation so you can spot errors. The answers explain the intended reasoning rather than claiming to reproduce any employer’s live test.

There is no verified universal list of the 90 questions most often asked. Employers choose different assessments according to the position. For example, Crédit Agricole Careers describes tests that may assess numerical and verbal reasoning, learning ability, short-term memory, inductive logic, and relationships between roles; the skills and any English test depend on the position. Personality and work-style prompts: 76–90

Personality inventories ask about typical behaviour rather than testing a single correct response. Answer honestly and consistently; do not try to reverse-engineer an ideal profile. The National Careers Service notes that these questions have no right or wrong answers. [National Careers Service guidance]

  1. I prefer planning tasks in advance rather than deciding as I go. Practice: Rate how well this describes your usual behaviour.

How to prepare for an employer’s actual assessment

  1. Check the invitation and recruitment page. Look for the named provider, question family, format, and any rules about calculators, scratch paper, or moving between questions. If the information is unclear, ask the employer rather than assuming.

  2. Use relevant practice materials. The UK National Careers Service recommends practice to become familiar with question types and timing, and advises reviewing mistakes to focus further study. It points candidates to resources including the British Psychological Society, SHL practice tests, and The Psychometric Test Project. [National Careers Service guidance]

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  3. Strengthen numerical basics where relevant. The same guidance specifically recommends practising fractions, percentages, and ratios for numerical tests. Work through questions under realistic time limits only after you understand the method.

  4. Practise test conditions. Read directions and sample items carefully, use a quiet place, and keep track of the time limit. Do not spend too long stuck on one item. Move on or make a reasoned guess only if the test rules permit it; providers differ on navigation and guessing.

  5. Request access adjustments promptly if needed. Contact the employer before the assessment to discuss reasonable adjustments for a disability that may affect performance. The National Careers Service gives screen-reader software and extra time as examples. [National Careers Service guidance]

Optional printed practice workbook

It is a broad practice resource, not a verified collection of current live interview questions or a match for any particular employer’s assessment. [Kogan Page book listing]
