Eight Washington casinos operated by Maverick Washington LLC face potential closure on November 30, 2026, affecting a reported 850 workers. The notices say a new owner or operator could prevent a closure or delay it; they do not confirm that the sites will shut down. Separate notices and summer layoff rounds bring the number of positions affected across announcements to 1,276, not 1,276 confirmed future job losses.

The tracker provides access to the Washington Employment Security Department’s public WARN search.
What does “over 1,200 jobs at risk” include?
The headline-sized total combines three separate groups of announcements. Their dates and status differ, so the 1,276 positions should be understood as affected or at risk across announcements—not as a tally of confirmed future job losses.

| Announcement group | Properties or locations | Effective period | Reported positions | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eight potential closure notices | The eight casinos listed above | November 30, 2026 | 850 | Workers affected by potential closures, as reported by MyNorthwest; closures are conditional. |
| Tukwila notices | Riverside Casino (142) and Great American Casino (96) | November 1, 2026 | 238 | Positions covered by separate notices, according to the Washington WARN tracker and local reporting. |
| Summer layoff rounds | SeaTac, Bothell, and Mountlake Terrace | Summer 2026 | 188 | Positions affected across three reported layoff rounds, according to KIRO/MyNorthwest. |
| Combined announcements | Separate cohorts above | Different dates | 1,276 | Arithmetic total across different notices and layoff announcements; not all are upcoming or confirmed job losses. |
The 238 Tukwila positions and 188 summer-round positions are separate from the eight November 30 notices. Combining all three explains the “over 1,200” framing, but obscures important differences between potential closures, notices effective November 1, and earlier reported layoff rounds.
Could a new owner keep the casinos open?
Possibly. In a statement quoted by MyNorthwest, Maverick Washington LLC Human Resources Director Christine Wisniewski said the company is subject to bankruptcy proceedings and that a property could have a change of operator or owner. She said that if a site transitions, “the above-referenced closure may not occur, or alternatively, the closure could be delayed.”

That language makes the November 30 date conditional, not a guaranteed shutdown date. The reports do not identify a buyer or replacement operator for the eight named properties, and they do not establish that a sale will happen or that any closure has been cancelled.

KIRO/MyNorthwest reports Maverick Gaming filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas in July 2025, following a 2024 debt restructuring. The bankruptcy filing listed assets and liabilities each in the $100 million to $500 million range. KIRO/MyNorthwest also reported that five locations had closed since April 2026 as of October 1, 2026.

A 2025 bankruptcy declaration described a then-operating portfolio of 26 properties, approximately 2,500 slot machines, 320 table games, 1,200 hotel rooms, and 30 restaurants. These are historical figures from the declaration, not an inventory of Maverick’s current operations after subsequent closures and transitions.
Yogonet, citing The News Tribune, quoted Teamsters Local 117 Secretary-Treasurer Paul Dascher saying that Maverick operations had changed hands during the bankruptcy process and that several other facilities would close or change hands in coming months. He also said the union was working to ensure members were treated fairly. That union statement describes the broader situation; it does not confirm a transaction at any of the eight sites named in the November notices.
