PUMP’s ability to stay above $0.005 is uncertain. An Oct. 3, 2026 report said long-position liquidations exceeded $8.3 million, while reported spot-market buying offered a counterpoint. Neither signal proves that $0.005 will hold or fail, and Pump.fun’s buyback disclosures do not promise a price floor.
What the liquidation report says
An AMBCrypto article republished by KuCoin at 15:14:28 UTC on Oct. 3, 2026, reported that PUMP failed near $0.0061 and was trading at $0.0054 at publication. The article’s summary gives a low of $0.00509. It also reported more than $8.3 million in liquidated long positions versus $0.7 million in shorts, citing CoinGlass. The accessible report does not establish the measurement window, venues covered or precise methodology, so these are attributed figures rather than independently scoped totals. The article also reported $385 million in futures outflows against $374 million in inflows, for a netflow of -$10.7 million, down 237%, attributing the figures to CoinGlass. These measures add context to the report’s derivatives-pressure narrative, but their scope is not independently established in the accessible material. The reported intraday low, publication-time price and liquidation totals should not be treated as simultaneous readings.
What the spot-flow figures add
The same report cited Coinalyze data saying spot buying volume exceeded selling volume for three consecutive days. For Oct. 2, it gave 25.5 billion in buy volume against 24.6 billion in sell volume. That is a counter-signal to the reported futures pressure, not evidence that spot buyers can absorb continued selling in leveraged markets. Pluang’s Oct. 3 feed republishing AMBCrypto

How $0.005 compares with recent price data
CoinGecko’s historical table identifies its selected date as UTC and lists PUMP’s Oct. 2, 2026 close at $0.00537852. The captured table has no Oct. 3 daily close, so the figure is recent daily context—not a live quote or a prediction. CoinGecko’s PUMP price history
The AMBCrypto article framed two conditional possibilities: sustained spot buying might help PUMP reclaim $0.006, while continued derivatives selling could leave it struggling to hold $0.005, with $0.0046 mentioned as a possible downside. Those are the article’s technical scenarios, not verified support levels or forecasts. On the evidence available, $0.005 is a level under pressure, not a level that can be declared defended.

Why Pump.fun buybacks do not establish a floor
Pump.fun’s official PUMP page describes the token as the protocol’s native token and presents a record of daily purchases and burns settled on Solana. The page says its revenue definition, effective from Oct. 24, 2025, includes Pump.fun bonding-curve, PumpSwap and Terminal revenue across Solana, Base, Ethereum L1 and BNB, net of referral fees and cash backs, and excludes Mayhem Mode. It also says that as of Apr. 28, 2026, 50% of revenue was programmatically locked and allocated to burns for one year. Pump.fun’s official PUMP page
For Oct. 2, 2026, the page records 210.4 million PUMP burned, 10.3K SOL spent, $1.23 million in USD value, a recorded price of $0.005825 and 50.40% of revenue. It also displays 169.49 billion PUMP removed and cumulative buybacks of $471.97 million, with the data labeled as of Oct. 2. These are official-page historical figures, not a stated future purchase rate or a forecast of price impact.

Pump.fun’s disclosure cautions: “No token purchaser, holder or seller should rely on past purchases as an indication of future token purchases.” It says purchase activity may be initiated, suspended, modified or discontinued, subject to its stated exception for activity deterministically programmed before Apr. 29, 2026. A history of burns therefore cannot be treated as a commitment to defend $0.005.
