BlackDoctor announced its first Medical Advisory Board on October 1, 2026, as part of a strategic rebrand and return to the health-services industry. The eight-physician board is expected to advise on clinical strategy, products, content, and health education. The announcement describes planned responsibilities, not results or a consumer product available to buy.

Who is on BlackDoctor’s Medical Advisory Board?

BlackDoctor named eight physicians, spanning clinical specialties and medical affairs:

  • Dr. Craig Emmitt Cole — oncology and hematology
  • Dr. Chikelue Oragwu — medical affairs
  • Dr. Nicole Christian-Brathwaite — psychiatry
  • Dr. Yele Aluko — cardiology and physician executive
  • Dr. Kristen Harris Nwanyanwu — ophthalmology
  • Dr. Adam Friedman — dermatology
  • Dr. Beatrice Williams — orthodontics
  • Dr. Keisha L. Gibson — pediatric nephrology

The official board page provides members’ professional-role details.

What will the board do?

BlackDoctor says board members will advise on clinical strategy and product development, help shape tools, and medically review company content. They are also expected to contribute health information and commentary to BlackDoctor.com and BlackDoctor.pro, represent the brand at industry events, and support health education.

The company also says members will help build relationships with pharmaceutical companies, academic medical institutions, medical schools, medical societies, foundations, and health nonprofits. The announcement identifies no specific partners or completed partnership outcomes.

What does the announcement establish—and what remains unknown?

The October 1, 2026 announcement establishes BlackDoctor’s stated purpose and intended responsibilities for the board. It does not report completed work, demonstrate clinical effectiveness, or establish improved health outcomes. Nor does it announce a consumer product for purchase.

BlackDoctor CEO Akinwole Garrett said the board reflects a company “built by and for the community we serve, with real clinicians in the room.” Board member Dr. Craig Emmitt Cole said BlackDoctor was “not just adding another AI product to the market” but building one that understands its audience. That is Cole’s characterization of work on WellBot and Health on Point, not independent evidence of product performance.

BlackDoctor’s release also says the company reaches more than 30 million people each year and has more than 30,000 practitioners in its healthcare professional database. These are company-reported figures, not independently audited audience or database estimates.

Why this matters to readers

A medical advisory board can provide clinicians’ input on health content and product plans. For readers, the practical distinction is between that stated advisory role and demonstrated results: the announcement describes what BlackDoctor expects the physicians to contribute, but does not show how their involvement has changed content, tools, or health outcomes.
