TDK said Abed’s departure from those roles took effect October 1, 2024, and was for personal reasons. TDK’s management page, checked October 1, 2026, lists Bousaba as CEO and group general manager and Abed as CTO.
What changed in October 2024
In its October 3, 2024 announcement, TDK named Joseph Bousaba CEO of InvenSense and general manager of TDK’s MEMS Sensors Business Group. He succeeded Omar Abed in both roles. TDK said Abed stepped down effective October 1, two days before the announcement, for personal reasons.
TDK said Bousaba and Abed were coordinating a transition. The release’s headline described the aim as ensuring continuity for partners and employees; that wording states the company’s intent, not a measured outcome.
Who leads InvenSense now?
TDK’s management page, checked October 1, 2026, lists Bousaba as InvenSense CEO and general manager of the MEMS Sensors Business Group. It lists Abed as CTO. This is the company’s current published listing and may change.

Who is Joseph Bousaba?
TDK’s appointment release says Bousaba had served as InvenSense’s chief business officer. It describes his previous role at Qualcomm as vice president of Consumer IoT and Smart Home, and notes earlier experience at Qualcomm Atheros and Philips Semiconductors, now NXP. His current company biography says he joined TDK in 2019 and held several leadership positions before becoming CEO. These are biographical details published by TDK.
What TDK said about Abed’s plans
TDK said Abed planned to return to the company in a new position in 2025. That was a statement of intent made in the October 2024 announcement; the cited announcement and current management listing do not establish whether the planned return occurred or identify a later position beyond the CTO role shown on the management page.

Recent InvenSense CEO transitions
The official announcements document two successive handovers. The 2022 release said Amir Panush would continue through the transition.

InvenSense’s relationship to TDK
InvenSense is a TDK Group company. TDK completed its acquisition on May 18, 2017, making InvenSense a wholly owned subsidiary. In its acquisition completion release, TDK described the deal as expanding its sensor and software portfolio. The October 2024 leadership announcement concerned personnel; it did not announce a change in strategy.
