Brazilian preorders for Apple’s four-model iPhone 16 lineup began on September 24, 2024. Launch prices ranged from R$7,799 for the 128 GB iPhone 16 to R$12,499 for the 256 GB iPhone 16 Pro Max. Those are historical Brazilian launch prices, not current 2026 offers; Apple’s Brazil store now lists newer iPhone models.
Brazilian launch prices and configurations
The prices below are September 2024 launch prices in Brazil. Apple announced the standard models’ prices and storage options; launch-period Brazilian reporting supplied the Pro prices. The starting configurations differ, so the Pro Max’s higher price includes twice the base storage of the other three models.
| Model | Launch starting price | Starting storage | Display | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 16 | R$7,799 | 128 GB | 6.1 inches | Lowest entry price; A18 chip and dual-camera system |
| iPhone 16 Plus | R$9,499 | 128 GB | 6.7 inches | Larger standard-model display |
| iPhone 16 Pro | R$10,299 | 128 GB | 6.3 inches | Pro camera system and titanium construction |
| iPhone 16 Pro Max | R$12,499 | 256 GB | 6.9 inches | Largest display and Pro camera system |
Apple listed 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB options for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The Pro models were offered in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB configurations, with the Pro Max starting at 256 GB. The quoted prices are entry prices, not the cost of every storage tier. Apple’s September 2024 announcement for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus and Brazilian launch-period coverage of the preorder and prices are the sources for these figures.
When preorders opened in Brazil
Brazil’s preorder date was Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Apple’s September 9 announcement described a September 13 preorder start and September 20 availability for its first wave of markets, but Brazil was not named among those markets. Those earlier dates should not be mistaken for the Brazilian schedule. The iPhone 16 launch is now historical, rather than an active preorder event.

At launch, shoppers could order through Apple’s website and Apple Store app, and contemporary Brazilian coverage also described registration and offers from retailers, phone stores, and banks. Those offers were seller-specific. Preorder access also did not guarantee identical delivery dates or stock across sellers: color, storage, location, and checkout time could affect the estimate. Apple’s preorder preparation announcement discussed Apple’s website and app without establishing a separate Brazil timetable.
Where to buy, and what to check
Apple Store
Buying direct is the straightforward option for a device sold unlocked and without a long-term carrier contract, as described on Apple’s Brazil iPhone 16 purchase page. Check the live price, available configuration, delivery estimate, and return terms at checkout; current pages are not records of 2024 inventory or pricing.
Carriers
A carrier may advertise installments, trade-in credit, or a discount linked to a mobile plan. Compare the total device cost and required plan charges, and check eligibility, contract duration, whether the offer applies only to a new line or upgrade, and whether the phone is unlocked. A headline discount alone does not establish that the carrier purchase costs less overall.

Which iPhone 16 model fits your needs?
iPhone 16: lower entry price in a compact size
Choose the 6.1-inch iPhone 16 if you want the family’s lowest launch price and do not need the Pro camera system, titanium body, or Pro display features. It introduced the A18 chip, Camera Control, an Action button, a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera, and an ultra-wide camera with macro photography. The listed storage choices were 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. The 128 GB starting configuration may suit lighter local storage use; people who keep large photo, video, or app libraries on the phone may prefer more capacity.

iPhone 16 Plus: bigger standard-model screen
The 6.7-inch 16 Plus keeps the standard model’s A18 chip and camera approach while offering a larger display. It is the standard-line choice for shoppers who value screen size and generally longer battery life than the smaller model more than Pro camera features. Its listed storage options were 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.
iPhone 16 Pro: Pro features in the smaller Pro body
The 6.3-inch Pro adds a titanium design, an A18 Pro chip, ProMotion and an always-on display, plus the Pro camera system, including a 5x telephoto camera. Apple also highlighted 4K Dolby Vision video at 120 frames per second. Consider it if those display, camera, and video capabilities matter more than choosing the larger Pro Max. The Pro line’s 128 GB entry configuration may be restrictive for frequent high-resolution video recording; higher storage tiers were available.
iPhone 16 Pro Max: largest display and 256 GB entry storage
The 6.9-inch Pro Max is for shoppers who want the biggest screen and highest battery capacity in the lineup, along with the Pro camera and video features. Its starting configuration was 256 GB, unlike the 128 GB starting tiers of the other models. Its larger size and higher launch price are the trade-offs; check how it feels in hand if one-handed use matters.

Feature differences that affect the choice
The standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus use the A18 chip; the Pro models use A18 Pro. All four models include Camera Control, while the standard models also gained the Action button. The standard pair has 6.1- and 6.7-inch displays; the Pro pair has 6.3- and 6.9-inch displays and adds ProMotion and always-on display. The Pro models also have titanium construction and a more advanced camera setup, including 5x telephoto on both Pro sizes. Apple’s Pro launch announcement details their cameras, displays, and finishes.
Standard models came in ultramarino, verde-acinzentado, rosa, branco, and preto (ultramarine, teal/green-gray, pink, white, and black). Pro finishes were titânio preto, titânio natural, titânio branco, and titânio deserto (black, natural, white, and desert titanium). These are Apple’s Brazilian launch color names; seller stock could vary by color and storage.

Apple described Apple Intelligence as a beta rollout through iOS 18.1, with the initial announced configuration requiring the device and Siri to be set to U.S. English. Availability depended on software, language, and region, so the launch announcement did not mean every feature was immediately available in Brazilian Portuguese. iOS 18 itself became available on September 16, 2024. Check Apple’s launch announcement for the conditions it stated at the time; those details describe the 2024 rollout, not necessarily current software availability.

Budget beyond the phone
Accessories and services add to the purchase cost. In its 2024 Pro launch materials, Apple listed MagSafe chargers at R$479 for 1 meter and R$599 for 2 meters, and Pro silicone cases at R$569. Those are historical launch prices, not current quotes. Check what the particular phone package includes rather than assuming a power adapter is supplied. Current accessory listings are available through Apple’s MagSafe page and iPhone accessories page.
Apple’s 2024 announcement cited iCloud+ from R$4.90 per month for 50 GB; treat that as a historical price signal, not a confirmed current subscription price. Check the current terms on Apple’s iCloud+ page. Launch buyers were also offered three months of selected services with a new subscription, a launch promotion rather than a standing 2026 benefit.
What is current in 2026
This article covers the Brazilian preorder launch in September 2024. Prices and availability may no longer match today’s offers: Apple’s current Brazil iPhone store has moved on to newer models and is not an archive of launch inventory. For a purchase now, compare current listings and terms directly with Apple, carriers, and retailers rather than treating the historical figures above as live prices.
