Type!t—also written as TypeIt!—was presented as a mobile Web3 keyboard that would reward users for typing, with NFT keyboard themes and the $WORD token at the center of its proposed model. The project also promoted encryption and other privacy features. Those were project claims, not proof that the keyboard was safe or that rewards were dependable: the available evidence does not confirm that the app, token rewards, or marketplace are operating today.
What was Type!t?
Type!t and TypeIt! refer to a project marketed as a Web3 keyboard or mobile input method, rather than a conventional keyboard with a crypto feature added afterward. Its project profile described it as built on BNB Chain. The project called itself “the first” Web3 keyboard, but that is promotional positioning, not an independently established industry distinction. Link3’s project profile and the TypeIt! GitBook document that positioning.
The pitch combined several ideas: use a third-party keyboard for ordinary typing, count activity toward rewards, and connect the experience to NFT themes, user-created content, games, and chat. It was aimed at people interested in Web3 and NFTs, but it also asked mobile users to consider a keyboard with potential access to unusually sensitive information.
How was “type-to-earn” supposed to work?
- Acquire or use a keyboard NFT. The project documentation linked NFT keyboard themes to the earning model.
- Enable the Type!t keyboard. Users would select it as an input method on a phone.
- Type as usual. The proposed system would count typing activity and use it to calculate rewards.
- Receive project rewards. The whitepaper described $WORD as an in-app game token and said that more typing could produce more earnings.
- Use or potentially trade assets. The project also described NFT upgrades and marketplace features, though current functionality and withdrawal routes are not established.
This is a description of the proposed mechanism, not a verified current earning opportunity. The public material reviewed does not establish a current reward rate, minimum withdrawal, claim process, or reliable way to convert rewards into money. A 2023 WEEX report said token production began in June 2023 for users holding NFT keyboard skins. It reported a maximum supply of one billion $WORD and a monthly 5% reduction in emissions; treat these as historical claims, not current tokenomics.

What would users and creators have been earning from?
The proposed economy had several separate pieces that should not be confused:
- User rewards: $WORD rewards tied to counted typing activity.
- Platform monetization: the documentation discussed NFT ownership, upgrades and maintenance, marketplace transactions, games, and SocialFi activity as parts of the broader ecosystem.
- Creator income: users could create themes, emojis, or memes, with the project describing creator royalties and marketplace sales.
- Token speculation: a token may have a market price, but that does not guarantee a reward has monetary value or can be sold.
The key economic question is who funds rewards, at what rate, and under what withdrawal conditions. The available documentation does not establish a sustainable revenue source, a dependable return for typists, or current liquidity. If rewards depend on buying an NFT, users also take on upfront cost and resale risk. On-chain transactions may incur fees, but no current fee schedule is established in the reviewed sources.
What privacy protections did Type!t claim?
TypeIt!’s whitepaper described local or decentralized data storage, encrypted messages and chat, AES-based encryption, Perfect Forward Secrecy, encryption at rest, multi-factor authentication, and a decentralized architecture. These are statements in project documentation; they do not independently establish how a current app handles data. See the project’s Solutions page and Our Product page.

The distinction matters because privacy is not one property. Encryption can protect message contents in some circumstances while leaving metadata—such as usage times, frequency, device identifiers, or network information—visible. Decentralized storage does not by itself prove end-to-end confidentiality, sound key management, limited collection, or a trustworthy keyboard client.
What did historical technical testing observe?
A BlockTempo investigation reported using Fiddler4 traffic inspection and reverse engineering. It said typing activity appeared to increment a work counter and that data uploaded in a field named data was encrypted.
That is a limited observation of the version examined, not a formal security audit or proof that plaintext never leaves a device. It does not establish key management, all data flows, server-side access, unchanged behavior in later versions, or the status of any app available now. The documentation and the reported traffic observation also do not establish a reproducible source-code review or a published cryptographic protocol.

Why a third-party keyboard deserves extra scrutiny
A mobile keyboard handles text as it is entered. Depending on the operating system, app, permissions, and field, it may be exposed to private messages, searches, account identifiers, financial or health information, and other sensitive text. Some operating systems or apps restrict third-party keyboards in password fields, but that is not a reason to assume all sensitive input is protected.
Before enabling any third-party keyboard, check its permission requests, network access, privacy policy, developer identity, update history, and whether its code or a named independent security audit is available. Look for a clear account and data-deletion process, an incident-reporting channel, and an explanation of what happens when the network is unavailable. Do not type a wallet seed phrase or private key into a third-party keyboard. The evidence here supports neither a claim that Type!t definitely collected plaintext nor a guarantee that it did not.

What is known about its affiliations and token?
Link3 identified TypeIt! with BNB Chain. TypeIt! also publicized a relationship with MEXC Ventures; CoinDesk’s sponsored article covered that announcement. A reported partnership or association is not a product security audit, an endorsement of investment value, regulatory approval, or evidence that rewards are sustainable. The CoinMarketCap listing is a historical market-data reference, not confirmation of current trading activity or liquidity.
Can you still use Type!t?
Current operation is not responsibly verifiable from the available sources. Link3 historically referenced TestFlight, Google Play, and an official website, but those references do not confirm a working download, maintained servers, live reward claims, functioning wallets, or a usable marketplace today. The first-party documentation and much of the third-party coverage are historical rather than current operational proof.
Before installing, connecting a wallet, or spending money, verify each of the following independently:
- The official domain and current iOS and Android listings, including the developer identity and last update.
- A current privacy policy and terms of service that explain keyboard permissions, data flows, retention, and deletion.
- Official token contract addresses, current trading venues and liquidity, and the exact reward calculation and claim process.
- Whether rewards can actually be claimed, whether the marketplace works, and what fees or restrictions apply.
- Recent activity on official project channels and whether support responds.
- For any NFT purchase, the official contract, holder entitlement, upgrade costs, resale venue, and support or refund terms.
Do not use an unofficial APK or an unverified wallet-connect page to compensate for a missing official download. If experimenting despite the uncertainty, keep any connected wallet separate from one holding significant assets.

Who might consider it—and who should not?
Type!t may interest Web3 hobbyists or researchers studying incentive-based input systems, particularly those prepared to verify permissions and token mechanics themselves. It is a poor fit for people who need a dependable everyday keyboard, expect guaranteed income, are unwilling to grant sensitive keyboard access, or regularly type passwords, financial details, medical information, or wallet recovery phrases.
For a personal-finance decision, treat any required NFT cost as money at risk, not as an investment with a promised payback. Token rewards have no guaranteed cash value, and the reviewed material does not establish current liquidity, withdrawal access, or a reliable reward rate.
