No—not according to AOL’s public statement in September 2008. The company denied reports that it planned to sell its Manassas Tech Center and Dulles Tech Center. That is a dated account of AOL’s position at the time, not confirmation of the facilities’ present ownership or sale status.
What AOL said about the Manassas and Dulles facilities
On September 3, 2008, Data Center Knowledge reported that AOL had rejected reports it might sell its Manassas Tech Center and Dulles Tech Center in Northern Virginia. AOL senior vice president of corporate communications Anne Bentley said, “There is absolutely no truth to the stories.” She also said there were “no current plans to sell the data centers.”
The phrase “no current plans” described AOL’s position in 2008. The report does not establish whether either facility was sold later or who owns or operates it now.
Why EMCOR’s involvement did not mean a sale
The same report said EMCOR handled physical-plant maintenance at the centers, including heating, cooling, and backup generators. That was a maintenance relationship; the report did not describe EMCOR as buying the facilities or taking ownership of them.

The CoreSite property in Reston was a different site
A separate former AOL property at 12100 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston should not be confused with the Manassas and Dulles facilities named in the 2008 report. Fairfax County says CoreSite purchased that AOL property and opened its first Reston data center there in 2008.
In a later interview, CoreSite CEO Juan Font described the former AOL headquarters property as the starting point for the company’s Fairfax County presence. He said CoreSite developed the building and later built VA2 beside it, according to the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. This Reston history does not establish the later ownership or status of AOL’s Manassas or Dulles facilities.
