Why Scale AI made him a consequential speaker
Scale AI was part of the less visible infrastructure supporting the AI boom. Its software and services helped organizations prepare, label and evaluate image, text, voice and video data for machine-learning systems. Labeling was one component of a broader data-development and AI-infrastructure business, rather than the company’s entire role.
From autonomous vehicles to broader AI infrastructure
Scale’s early work included labeled data for autonomous-vehicle companies such as Nuro and Zoox. By the time of the announcement, TechCrunch said the company had expanded into government, e-commerce, enterprise automation and robotics.
