Comcast advertised up to $700 off for existing customers on Unlimited or By the Gig plans who traded in an eligible phone. The documented discount was generally delivered as credits over 24 months, not as an instant $700 reduction. As of August 16, 2026, Xfinity’s public Samsung page shows newer Galaxy promotions rather than the original S25 offer.
What the original Galaxy S25 promotion offered
Comcast announced the promotion on January 22, 2025, alongside the Galaxy S25 launch. Existing Xfinity Mobile customers on an Unlimited or By the Gig plan could receive up to $700 off a qualifying new Samsung phone with an eligible trade-in. The announcement said the promotion ran through March 18, 2025. See Comcast’s announcement.
The same announcement described a separate no-trade-in benefit of up to $400 and a different “phone on us” opportunity tied to moving to Unlimited Plus. Those should not be confused with the up-to-$700 trade-in offer.
Is the $700 offer still available?
The published offer ended March 18, 2025. Xfinity’s public Samsung deals page, viewed August 16, 2026, lists newer Galaxy promotions, including Galaxy S26 offers, rather than the original S25 promotion. The displayed newer-device offers were marked to end August 25, 2026; current terms can change. Visit Xfinity’s current Samsung deals page and check your logged-in Shop flow before ordering.

Xfinity says qualifying devices, credits and requirements are determined by the offer shown in the Shop experience. A public page therefore cannot establish that an S25 promotion remains available for your account, location or plan. Check the account-specific offer at Xfinity’s device-credit FAQ.
Who qualified under the 2025 terms?
- Existing Xfinity Mobile customers on an Unlimited or By the Gig plan.
- An eligible trade-in submitted under the promotion’s condition and ownership rules.
- A qualifying new Samsung phone, with the exact model and storage eligibility determined by the offer.
- An upgrade or qualifying line transaction rather than an unrelated purchase of an unlocked phone.
Comcast used broad “new Samsung phones” and “Galaxy S25 Series” language. It did not establish that every Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra or S25 Edge configuration received the same maximum credit.
Why “up to $700 off” was not a guaranteed $700
“Up to $700” was a ceiling, not a flat discount for every customer. The amount could vary with the trade-in device, its condition, the Galaxy model and the promotion attached to the account. A damaged, locked, financed, lost, stolen or blacklisted phone could receive less or be rejected.
Xfinity’s trade-in terms require the phone to meet applicable physical and functional standards, have security features disabled, and not be reported lost, stolen or blacklisted.

How the discount was paid
The trade-in terms describe promotional credits spread over a 24-month credit period. That means the phone could initially appear under a device-payment agreement, with monthly credits reducing the payments over time. It was not necessarily $700 cheaper at checkout.
To receive the maximum promotional value, the terms require continuous Xfinity Mobile service during the credit period, continued payments on the new device, and keeping the new device rather than returning it. If you do not meet the requirements, credits can be reduced to an applicable minimum or prorated amount.
What happens if you cancel, change plans or return the phone?
- Cancel Xfinity Mobile: Remaining promotional credits may stop, while the unpaid device balance can become due.
- Change plans: A plan change can affect eligibility; use the exact terms attached to your order rather than assuming credits continue.
- Return the new phone: Returning it can prevent you from receiving the maximum promotional credit.
- Exchange devices: The trade-in terms contemplate moving to another device eligible for the same promotion; confirm this before exchanging.
This is why the headline discount should be evaluated as a 24-month commitment, not as a one-time coupon.
Trade-in checklist before shipping
- Back up the old phone and record its IMEI and condition with photographs.
- Confirm that you own it or understand how any outstanding financing affects eligibility.
- Remove Google and Samsung accounts and disable activation or security locks.
- Wait until the trade-in order is confirmed, then factory-reset the phone.
- Ship it by the stated deadline, keep the tracking number and retain proof of delivery.
If the phone is still being financed, distinguish an owned device from one with an outstanding balance or an existing Xfinity device-payment plan. Current upgrade programs have their own rules; Xfinity’s April 2026 upgrade terms are published here and should not be treated as retroactive terms for the 2025 S25 promotion.

What to verify in your account before ordering
- Sign in to Xfinity Mobile and open the phone Shop page.
- Select the exact Galaxy model and storage option.
- Read the promotion disclaimer attached to that device.
- Enter the trade-in model and condition.
- Confirm the required plan, whether an upgrade or new line is permitted, and any activation deadline.
- Record the device-payment term, monthly credit, trade-in shipping deadline and cancellation or plan-change consequences.
- Save screenshots and the order confirmation before sending the trade-in.
Requirements such as number porting, new-line activation windows and 24-month financing vary by promotion. Do not assume they apply—or do not apply—without reading your account’s displayed terms.

Use this comparison rather than relying on the headline:
Net savings = promotional credits + ordinary trade-in value − added plan costs − taxes and fees − activation charges − forfeited credits.
Taxes, fees and any higher-priced plan can materially reduce the value. A customer who expects to leave Xfinity before 24 months should treat unearned credits and the remaining device balance as part of the cost.

Xfinity Mobile versus buying the S25 directly from Samsung

What if a credit does not appear?
Contact Xfinity Mobile if the trade-in was delivered but credits do not appear within the stated processing period, the amount differs from checkout, the phone was activated on the wrong line, or the device agreement lacks the expected credit. Keep the order confirmation, trade-in estimate, shipping receipt, delivery proof and promotion screenshots.
Does Xfinity Internet matter?
The 2025 announcement separately described an additional free Unlimited line for 12 months for Xfinity Internet customers. That was a different benefit from the S25 trade-in credit. Current Xfinity pages may require Xfinity Internet for displayed offers, so do not transfer a current Internet requirement—or its absence—to the expired 2025 promotion.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The Xfinity Mobile Galaxy S25 deal was genuine, but “up to $700 off” referred to a trade-in promotion announced January 22, 2025 and ending March 18, 2025. It was generally paid through 24 months of credits, subject to ongoing service and device obligations. Do not treat it as a live public offer in 2026; check your logged-in Xfinity Shop flow and compare the full 24-month cost with Samsung’s unlocked price before ordering.
