Deal status: Amazon Canada’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions described here ran in 2024 and have ended. Amazon announced the preview on November 12, 2024; Black Friday deals were scheduled for November 21–29, followed by Cyber Monday deals from November 30 to December 2. Its headline offer was up to 54% off select Amazon devices—not 54% off every listed product.
What Amazon announced
Amazon Canada previewed thousands of deals across categories including electronics, home goods, apparel, beauty, toys and tools. The technology highlights centred on Amazon’s Echo, Fire TV, eero, Ring, Blink and Kindle products. The dates and offers below are historical details from Amazon’s November 12, 2024 announcement; the contemporary topic was also covered by MobileSyrup on November 14, 2024.
Amazon said select devices would be discounted by up to 54%, and the all-new Kindle by 17%. The announcement did not give individual sale prices for the named devices. “Up to” describes a maximum, not a discount guaranteed for every product in the group.
Amazon devices included in the preview
| Product | What Amazon’s announcement established | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Echo Pop | Named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | A compact Alexa speaker for voice commands, music, timers and smart-home control; it has no display. |
| Echo Show 5, 3rd generation | Named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | A small-screen option for alarms, calls, recipes and smart-home controls. Check the generation when comparing listings. |
| Echo Dot Kids | Named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | Families should check the included parental controls, content features, warranty and any subscription requirements rather than assuming they match the standard Echo Dot. |
| Fire TV 50-inch 4-Series | Named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | Check resolution, panel, refresh rate, HDR support, HDMI features and warranty against your intended use, especially gaming or home cinema. |
| Fire TV 55-inch Omni QLED Series | Named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | It is a different line from the 4-Series. Compare brightness, local dimming, refresh rate and gaming features with other TVs at the actual price. |
| eero Pro 6E and eero Max 7 | Both mesh Wi-Fi systems were named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level prices not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | Mesh may help with coverage across a larger home, but placement, wired backhaul, internet speed and device support matter. A small home with reliable Wi-Fi may not need a new system. |
| Ring Battery Doorbell and Ring Indoor Cam | Both were named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level prices not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | Check installation, storage options, subscription terms, privacy settings and compatibility with your existing setup. |
| Blink Video Doorbell plus Mini 2nd Gen Camera | The bundle was named among select Amazon devices in the up-to-54%-off offer; item-level price not stated in Amazon’s announcement. | Blink is a separate product ecosystem from Ring, with its own app and product range. Verify storage and any recurring fees for the features you want. |
| All-new Kindle | Amazon announced 17% off; an item-level sale price was not stated. | The announcement did not specify a model number or exact price. |
For TVs, a large screen or a “QLED” label alone does not establish picture quality or suitability for gaming. For doorbells and cameras, include possible ongoing service costs in the total cost of ownership; a sale price does not establish that advanced features or cloud storage are free.

Was Prime required?
No. Amazon said the 2024 sale was open to all customers; Prime was not a stated condition for accessing the deals. Membership offered additional shopping and delivery benefits. The announcement listed Canadian Prime prices at the time as $9.99 per month or $99 per year, and $4.99 per month or $49 per year for eligible young adults and students after a six-month trial. Those are November 2024 figures, not verified current prices.
How to interpret a deal preview
- Look for the actual checkout price. The announcement’s maximum discount does not tell you the price of an individual product. Compare the final Canadian price, including shipping where applicable, before deciding.
- Confirm the exact model and seller. Echo Show 5, 3rd generation, and Blink Mini, 2nd generation, are specific versions. A similar name, colour, bundle or older generation may have different features and terms.
- Check the product’s fit, not just the discount. For a TV, match specifications to viewing and gaming needs; for mesh Wi-Fi, assess coverage and connection requirements; for cameras, account for installation, storage and subscriptions.
- Review the listing’s terms. A preview cannot guarantee stock, a stable price, a discount on every configuration, or identical terms from third-party sellers. Check shipping, return policy and warranty on the listing you would actually buy.
- Consider ecosystem and privacy trade-offs. Alexa, Fire TV, eero, Ring and Blink products may work together, but app, account, privacy and service requirements vary. Confirm they suit the smart-home platform and recurring costs you are comfortable with.
Amazon’s holiday-shopping tools
Amazon promoted its Holiday Shop for browsing gifts by theme and price point, Amazon Lens for searching with a photo, screenshot or barcode, and Find-on-Amazon for locating similar products while browsing other sites. These were discovery tools, not additional discount terms.
