Launched in the United States on July 24, 2025, the subscription costs $19.99 per month for up to three eligible Apple products, with each additional product costing $5.99 per month. It bundles AppleCare+ services, including accidental-damage protection and technical support, while theft-and-loss protection applies only to eligible iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch devices.
Your actual cost also includes service fees or deductibles when you make a claim, and every device must pass Apple’s eligibility rules.
What AppleCare One is
AppleCare One is a recurring Apple protection plan managed under one account and one monthly bill. Apple describes it as including AppleCare+ benefits: Apple-certified repair or replacement, priority technical support, battery service when the battery meets Apple’s applicable threshold, and accidental-damage service subject to fees and terms.
Apple’s legal overview says accidental-damage incidents are unlimited for each covered device, but “unlimited” does not mean free repairs. A service fee applies to covered accidental damage, and a deductible applies to theft or loss. The plan is separate from Apple One, Apple’s entertainment and cloud-services bundle.

How much AppleCare One costs

The annual figures are simple calculations from Apple’s listed prices and exclude taxes, service fees and deductibles. The subscription continues until you cancel. Products beyond the first three add $5.99 each per month.
Apple said an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch combination could save up to $11 per month compared with separate AppleCare+ plans. That is Apple’s comparison, not a guaranteed saving: individual-plan prices vary by model and by whether theft-and-loss protection is included. Check the current prices for your exact devices before switching.

Which Apple products can be included?
Apple’s AppleCare pages describe coverage across categories including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, AirPods and other headphones, Apple TV, HomePod, displays and certain accessories. The enrollment screen, rather than a general category list, determines whether a particular model, account and location qualify.

What the plan covers

How theft-and-loss claims work
Apple’s current legal page provides up to three theft-or-loss incidents every 12 months for eligible iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch products under AppleCare One. This is a plan-level limit, not three theft claims for every device, and each approved replacement carries a deductible. The claim must meet the plan’s conditions; requirements can include having Find My enabled, so read the current terms before relying on this benefit.

Yes, potentially. Apple says eligible products up to four years old may be added if they are in good condition. Four years is an upper eligibility guideline, not an acceptance guarantee. Apple may require a remote device check, photographs, account sign-in or an inspection at an Apple Store. A Mac used for the device check should be above 20% charge or connected to power, and an Apple Watch check uses its paired iPhone, according to Apple’s support instructions.

For a new product, Apple’s U.S. support guidance generally presents an AppleCare offer within the applicable enrollment window, commonly within 60 days of purchase. The precise window can vary by product and the offer displayed for your device.
- Open Settings on the device.
- Tap General.
- Tap AppleCare & Warranty.
- Select the device and follow the onscreen instructions.
Apple’s coverage-purchase support page explains the path. If the device is not listed or requires an inspection, use the instructions shown there rather than assuming it is covered.

Adding, removing and replacing products
Apple allows products to be moved in and out of the plan when they meet the applicable rules. If you trade in a covered product directly to Apple, Apple says the old product is removed and replaced with the new device. Removing a product otherwise ends its coverage immediately; an associated add-on subscription can also be canceled. Confirm that the replacement appears in your plan before giving away, selling or trading in the old device.
Is AppleCare One cheaper than separate AppleCare+?
It can be, but only for a particular device mix. Compare the $19.99 base premium (plus $5.99 add-ons) with the individual AppleCare+ plans you would actually buy, including comparable theft-and-loss options. Then consider the likelihood and cost of claims.
AppleCare One is more likely to fit when
- You would insure three expensive Apple products anyway.
- You own an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and value theft-and-loss protection across those categories.
- You want one bill and expect to replace or trade in devices.
- Your existing products are young enough and in good enough condition to pass Apple’s checks.
Individual coverage or self-insurance may fit better when
- You own only one Apple product or would insure just one of several products.
- Your main device is a Mac, AirPods, Apple TV, HomePod or another product for which theft-and-loss is not included under AppleCare One.
- You are unlikely to claim and would rather keep the monthly premium.
- Your devices are older, damaged or otherwise unlikely to pass enrollment.
- Adding a fourth or fifth device makes the combined premium higher than the individual plans.
Common misunderstandings to avoid
- “$19.99 covers everything I own.” It covers up to three eligible products; extra products cost $5.99 each and acceptance is not automatic.
- “Repairs are free.” Accidental-damage fees and theft-or-loss deductibles remain.
- “Every covered product gets theft protection.” Apple identifies that benefit for eligible iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch devices.
- “Any four-year-old device qualifies.” Apple says eligible products up to four years old may be added if they are in good condition and pass verification.
- “Removing a device has no downside.” Coverage ends immediately when Apple removes it from the plan.
Alternatives
Individual AppleCare+ is usually clearer for a one-device owner or for products that do not justify a multi-device subscription. AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss may suit someone protecting one qualifying mobile device; Apple’s legal page describes up to two theft-or-loss incidents every 12 months for that plan, compared with up to three under AppleCare One for eligible devices.
Self-insuring can also be reasonable for inexpensive or mostly stationary devices, but check whether a credit card, renters or homeowners policy actually covers accidental damage, theft, deductibles and claim limits before relying on it.
The Bottom Line
AppleCare One is most compelling when you would otherwise buy coverage for two or three costly Apple devices—especially an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It is not automatically cheaper, does not remove claim fees, and does not give every product theft-and-loss protection. Check each device under Settings → General → AppleCare & Warranty, then compare the resulting premium and deductibles with the individual plans you would actually purchase.
